I have recommended it to several of my friends who have Macs. It works most excellently.

Very nice piece of software. Much stabler than I'd expect considering the version number, nice look & feel - is piracy as much fun if its this easy.
Impressed by the lack of spyware in anything this slick - wheres the catch?

I don't like it. It runs like crap and is full of Digital rights managment software.
I also found a hint of spyware. At least Pest Patrol picked it up as spyware.

What i was saying is that one of my programs picked it up as spyware, don't know if it's reall yspyware, and all the movies i tried to download asked me to upgrade my DRM software so that i could buy them.

It sounds to me like it was the files that you downloaded rather than the program. The big film companies don't publish material on the internet yet, so I'm guessing that it was independent production that you downloaded. P2p could be their biggest audience. Of course they are going to try and use DRM.

I have never tried the program, and have no mac.
I remember you (j.ashton) saying, however, that a windows version (might) be/is in the works, or may exist someday.
That might be interesting.

Funny you should say that Pest Patrol picked it up, because Pest Patrol doesn't run on a Mac!

And as far as filesharing on a Mac goes, Poisoned is definately the best. Acquisition is pretty good too (and has a rather similar interface), but Poisoned is much better in terms of results and speed.
BTW: Anyone know of any eDonkey Mac clients? (Not MLDonkey/MLMac).

This is a guy from the ES5 forums, of course he just made a fool of himself. DRM?? HA! It's Mac buddy!

I apologise for my flaming. The man has obviously made these comments about Poisoned unknowingly and is as you can tell through his signature, somewhat of a ES5 Fanboy. I am an Avid Poisoned supporter, so when someone makes unjust and unneeded accusations and then backs them up with blatant lies, it makes my blood boil. I do apologise once again for my flaming.

Easy Nolanistic, you're actually the only person to flame in the thread.
The mods are aware of little tricks that differing apps' fans use, please let us take care of problems.

btw . . . . isnt P4L one of the ES5 fanboys that was badmouthing ZP? Maybe not, but sounds strangely familiar . . . . maybe why hes going on about DRM.
Edit : I missed an above post, yes, THIS IS one of the ESV losers, had some choice things to say. Welcome to my playground, P4L.

I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but now I know about pest control I'm finding it hard to continue to do so.
But why so unnessicarily attack Poisoned?

But that is the odd thing Mojo, no one had mentioned ESV. Since being unbanned, P4L had been open minded about all programs

At the time I saw this thread I was still angry with the false acusations and Lies that Mr. Julian brought to the es5 forums. I had no intention of posting anything that would piss anyone off from ZP and have no problems with this board.
I just let J. Ashtons taunts from the es5 forums drag over to here. I should really think things through when i get angry before posting.
I am sorry if I pissed anyone except for the author of this thread off. But for the sake of ZeroPaid I will just mumble it under my breath to him as well .

I know Mal but this was just a spill over from the ES5 forums where they went back and forth. Even P4L admits that. In retrospect I didn't make things better but I just get tired of issues from other forums rearing their heads here. The ES5 vs SlyckTom vs J.Ashton crap needs to stay where it started and as Hunter said we don't want to have to referee the different factions here. P4L says it was a heat of the moment thing and so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and hopefully this will end here. Let's keep things academic folks and save the rhetoric for the Slyck and Es5 forums. This is after all between them and therefore should remain on their respective sites.

This is the same J. Ashton that claims that he broke the SSL Key encryption on Slyck and ES5 forums. (Somebody posted a full chat where he makes all kind of stupid claims.) and he also embarassed himself by sending in a BUGTRAQ about EDONKEY when in fact it wasnt even a bug. I personally dont trust anything he says after reading some of his posts on various forums.

Man, I wouldn't doubt some of the crap he's done. The guy *knows* how to code. Otherwise Sharman would have ignored him. Why the hell do you think they were offering him a job to make some of their software krack proof.

I never said I broke SSL, it is simply insecure in ES5 and their traffic can be decoded easily as noted by another group. 2nd The edonkey BUGTRAQ was not about a bug, I think you need to read it again and again and then read the edonkey forums and then make a decision, you are very misinformed, I am looking out for MetaMachines best interest on that one... What have you done for us lately?

I notice you don't provide any references to your bogus claims, so I will.

"Last week we reported that MesoCom’s P2P Watchdog was able to trace the unique signature of the EarthStation 5 (ES5) protocol. While they do not decrypt the SSL protocol, nor is that their intention"
Here is your contribution to BUGTRAQ so everyone can see for themselves:
http://securityfocus.com/archive/1/348104/2003-12-16/2003-12-22/1
If the thing you posted to BUGTRAQ wasn't a bug, then you should have posted it to NOTABUG TRAQ. If you had MetaMachine's interests at heart you would have informed them PRIVATELY about the matter first and given them a chance to do something about it before trying to make a name for yourself as a "bug tracker".
Now, did you have any more distorted, false and self-serving contributions to make?

It seems to me that if Ashton didn't give a shit he would have just kept his mouth shut. The fact that he came out and reported this, knowing full well he would be trashed by people with an agenda, only lends more credibility to him. Now the question is do you have any more distorted, false and self-serving contributions to make?
Now before you reply back just remember what I said earlier. This is NOT a Zeropaid issue. If you want to go on and on with Ashton-bashing, I'm sure there are forums that you frequent that would love to hear it. This, however, isn't one of them.
