There was no reason to close the "now playing" thread.

Since my return, I have in no way caused a disruption to anyone at Zeropaid.................in fact, the only person who seems to have a problem with me, is you.

Open the thread back up, others who posted in it, don't deserve to have it closed.


As for your problem with me, well, last time I checked, the only ZP rule I broke was the vulgar language used in my signature (the f-word). Others who have been banned (temp, and permanent) have been at least warned. My sig was there for my (maybe others) amussment, and nothing else.

Judging from the explanation post you made (which someone supplied me with), it seems you based the banning (temp ban, 3 days), more upon the simple fact that I don't like you.

So, in essence, I was banned for printing my thoughts. Thats a gross misuse of power, by nothing more than a spoiled child. Of course, I could have sent you a PM on this, but what good would that do? You certainly don't have to answer to anyone (except for those who allow you to be a mod). What's the point?

Unban Ken17625, and I_Only_Kill_On_Tuesday (or 1 of the two, I don't care), and stop banning me on sight, for no valid reason.

I came on and saw the 'now playing' thread with a little lock on it... clicked and went to see why... and hell... I don't know why. Because Ken posted under a different name, with a dedication (somewhat) to Seph? Good reason to ban someone. Maybe because he was banned under his other name, and was there with another? He hadn't started any wars, any fights, hadn't done anything in his 5 posts.

Not sure where I'm going with this but Seph, sheesh, get a dictionary and stop being so damn trigger happy.

I cant understand for the life of me why a 68 page thread like 'Now Playing' was closed without explanation. That doesn't say much to the rest of us who didnt post perceived offensive material. Why not just censor the offensive posts?

I think humor should be taken in stride, particularly on birthdays..we all need to laugh at ourselves. But that's just my opinion. On the other hand, there's no need to bait each other..unless its in good fun, and we should respect the Mod's positions, as they are mostly giving their free time. At the same time, the Mods also need to also be respectful; I havent found that to be the case when we disagree on political issues. (See "Who would you vote for')

Perhaps the forum rules need to more clear in a community like this... A warning should have been sufficient until the (mis)communication was cleared up. No Capital Punishment for Ken!

BTW... I enjoy a reason for closing a thread when it is closed by the moderator that did so. I think that shows that the moderator is a stand-up sort of human being and shows that the moderators are accountable for their actions. when I see a closed thread, I wonder why it is closed. A simple reason (even if it were a form response, e.g. #13 Closed for Trolling) added to the end makes everybody involved in the closed thread feel less personally attacked for having their conversation ended.

Some moderators forget the meaning of the word moderate..... There is no good reason for closing a long lived thread just cos you hate someone or they insulted you. Sooner or later a lot of people get insulted here and while it isn't nice it is to be expected sometimes. Obviously it's different if it is a regular problem, a harassment type situation. If someone's sig is too offensive then just pm a warning and allow reasonable time to change it. Maybe be Sephiroth should get a ban of a few days for pissing off so many people at one time and not even offering a justification.

note: there is no "please don't ban me" plea here. Do what you like...if you can justify it.

Ken, when you try to fight a moderator (especially one like Seph who has been on the site as a mod forever) you will almost always lose. I was hoping people took note of that by now from the many mistakes I have made. By mistakes I mean, it takes alot of the flavor out of the site when it is all over and done with. It was NOT worth the effort nor the consequence.

However, I can see Seph's point for the banning of other names. You were given a 3 day ban to just cool off, because in more than Seph's opinion you were off on a tangent. Brazenly coming back under another name won't show that you have cooled off as was intended. Instead it makes you look like an agitator. Just calm down for a few days and come back the usual Ken, don't agitate for a few days and find you aren't allowed back.

not to intrude in the middle of this, but shouldnt the mod get a few days off to cool down also, not jsut the person who was on the other end of the "argument". I only say this cause i have seen that other people have felt that the mod may have had a good part of it, not jsut a person ranting and raving for a thousand posts. its not always the user that need a break or vaca.

Cool, i wasnt sure like I said i was in the middle of it and only heard and read only small tibits. But it may be a good thing to consider for future aguments, mods are people and need time to cool also. =)

Maybe Ken should have asked for a reason other than going off on a temper tantrum. Just because this is the internet actions still do have conquences.

and Ken a THREE DAY BAN means three days so you can either wait and come back on weds at 11pm or im going to extend the ban to three days of your last name.
