Open up my computer, right click on your hard drive, select properties, then click disk cleanup.
run through that and see if you gain any significant amount of diskspace.

Right click on your recycling bin and select properties slide the bar that says 10% reserved for files in the recycling bin down to zero. (windows by default reserves 10 percent of the hard drive for deleted files to just sit in the recycle bin)
Really helps with the space.
Delete old programs and anything you do not use.
Right click on your internet explorer properties selection and go to the button that says settings.
Again you will see a bar slide it all the way to the left, delete any cookies you have and any offline files.
Finally do a disk defrag, start, programs, accessories, system tools, disk defrag.
Run that on your hard drive and let it finish.
Hopefully you have more than enough space now.
Update your virus definitions, scan your hard drive.
Then run ad-aware (spyware remover, finds them by the hundreds if it is your first time running it www.lavasoftusa.com)
If you need any help or want to fine tune your pc more you can go to my site cannedinfo.tripod.com some useful tutorials.

take them out, see if it makes a difference...if not, put them back in.
also, check to see if zone alarm has log files...if so, they may be the culprit.

Have you tried manually deleting the file? Maybe in safe mode.

I just have to play Devil's Advocate here.
EVERY tech support call starts with, "I didn't chage ANYTHING and now it doesn't work."
My response is, "You have to stop lying or I can't help you!"

If you have norton antivirus or systemworks, right click on the recycle bin and go to "empty norton protected files". That can be tricky sometimes. Also you might want to scan for viruses and delete that history file.

how about making a screenshot?
make a couple of screen shots. one pertaining to the name of the file. the other with the properties showing the details of this file.
the first file should show the name of it. followed by the properties of the second file, that way people might be able to help you. the third file should show where this file is located that way people can get more or less a better idea of what the problem is.
remember screenshots makes things clearer as well to someone.

if you need the space, you can compress your hard drive... go to my computer, double click your hard drive (C:\) and ten select everything in the root of that, and right-click>properties, and compress the files. it will take a while to compress everything, and afterwards you may notice some slowdowns when opening programs, but you should gain lots of space.

If you know how and worse comes to worse, you can always reformat your drive, but you need to have all of your drivers and programs on CD first!

>you have norton antivirus or systemworks, right click >on the recycle bin and go to "empty norton protected >files".
I fixed a computer with an almost full disk and norton installed once. Norton had been used to remove a virus by quarantening the copys of the virus instead of deleting them. There was a few gigs of viruses in quaranteen.
