Cannot browse or contact friends shared files

My friend and I want to use winmx to swap files with eachother. However when I try to browse (by right clicking on his name in my hotlist and selecting browse) I cannot see any of his files. I cannot send him messages or get any information on him from clicking on the whois button. He has the same problem woth me. Any help much appreciated.

Are you using any kind of messaging program, such as msn, in conjunction with the WinMX program? If you are, you could try switching it off and restarting your computer. Make sure the messenger doesn't start up automatically when you reboot, just to be on the safe side.
