Hi
I have this stupid router and i have to have it. I want people to be able to download my files on this one p2p program called Peeranha. Nobody can because of this stupid router. I heard that you can open ports or something like that to let programs like that work right. Does anyone have any info about that? I really need it.

Whats the exact brand and model number of that router? Port forwarding shouldn't be too hard to do, the router should have come with a manual that says how.

Go into the web-based advanced user interface. Your manual should tell you how to log into your router without using the quick wizard. Go to Setup and look for VIRTUAL SERVERS. There should be some applications on a drop down list but if you can't find your particular application there then input the information manually from there.
Hope I gave you a general ideal. If you got anymore questions, give us a ring.

Resolution
You will need a static IP address. The virtual server will direct requests from computers on the LAN to a server set up on the LAN.
In other words, computers on the LAN that try to browse a specific IP address, that IP address can be redirected by the router to a server on the LAN rather than going out to the web.

I used to have the problem but it was solved by opening ports for both udp and tcp packets for some of the p2p software I was using.
