By "clean installation", I mean you uninstall the former version of WinMX before installing the new one.
I am running an OpenNap server with 200 users on a 166 mhz processor with 96 MB of memory, using Windows Millennium. My Siemens ethernet router kept crashing every couple of days, and I was at a loss to figure out the problem. I wasn't sure if it was caused by the OpenNap server or by WinMX. Finally I tried a clean install of version 3.22, instead of the upgrade that I had, and I no longer had the problems anymore.
