I've been beta testing spybot since I could get my hands on the very first beta.

I have to say, this is a major jump for spybot. The interface has been cleaned up and reorganized in a more thought out way. It also has new features (surprise!).

The biggest thing for me...when you single click on an item in the windows startup area of spybot, it pops up a box with info on whether or not you need that item starting with windows. This would allways pop on top of things, and was frankly anoying. Now this box has its own little area on the side, which can be easily hidden.

You can also switch from advanced to the simple version without closing, then going to the other program and opening.

Anyway, here's the info and download link. http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=24;t=6505

I got a question.. Im not sure what my wife did on here. but words in general will be highlighted or lower cased, they arent going to links, they will just bring up a blank page.. But when im looking at songs or albums, the same word maybe highlighted, if they had two of the same words on there, both be highlighted and underlined. You click on them, bring up a bad link, but their shouldnt be links or anything to them.

I bet it's a smart tag, or something similar in the web world.

It's a double-underlined "link" right? When you mouse over it, you get a little pop up box with an advertisement to a product or company or something. Those don't do anything. Just another way to advertise, since people think they are links and will mouse over them.

The only case I have heard of a detection being removed form, was PC Pitstop, and I thin PC magazine. I doubt spybot will take money to ignore detections, its more community run, and works on donations. lavasoft on the otherhand has more of a buisness model, and I could see something like that happening.

It was about 1-1.5 year(s) ago, and I remember it being posted here. However I can't find the news story so I'll remove my comments.
