Hi

When i wished nowadays to tweak my HDD (Maxtor 60 GB 7200 RPM) performance and went to this page, I found it greyed (not active) - WHY ??? and how to turn it active again

it's already enabled.

the only reason you might want to change that setting is if you remove the drive often while the computer is on....

i see no reason to change it, you definately wouldn't see a performance boost with a change of this particular one.

you can't change it unless it is actually a removable drive, ie firewire or usb/usb2.0. it's one of those things windows just doesn't let you do... i think it's either bc it has the system folder on it, or because you can't remove an operating ide drive from its ide cable while the comp is on.

anyway, your hard drive is operating normally.
