I just set up a new network with a linxsys wireless router (802.11b). Sometimes when I go to a web site it will stop loading right on the middle. When I download something it will stop right in the middle. Every so often I get disconnected from aim, kazaa, shareaza, and some other things. I can't play online games because I get disconnected. My connection status doesn't say I was disconnected though. I tried many things I found on the web with similar problems and nothing has worked. Can someone please help. Oh by the way, I have adsl that uses pppoe.
Thanks

Try Linxsys' web page for help or perhaps someone on google has had a simular problem.

I have a few questions as I had a similar problem with another Linksys router.
1. How many computers are connected to it?
2. Is the problem with 1 machine or all?
3. If its only with 1 machine, is it the admin of the network?
4. O/s
5. Are you able to go online to web sites without getting bumped?
6. What type of firewall?
I may not respond real quick as I am going out, but I'll check back later

MxRob has the correct questions that need to be answered.
Note: Zeropaid has a few networking geeks, and unemployed networking geeks with plenty of time to answer your questions.

Your symptoms sound a lot like interference on the 2.4 GHz frequency that 802.11b uses.
Any time a cordless phone in your house or any of your close neighbors' houses rings or is in use it can slow down your connection and cause downloads to time out.
Any time a microwave is in use in your house it will also create intereference at 2.4 GHz that can slow down your connection and cause it to time out.
If you think it's this kind of problem. Then make sure you don't have a cordless phone in the same room as the computer or the wireless router and try moving the computer closer to the wireless router.

Also your computer might just be too far away from your wireless router and you need to move them closer together.
About how many feet and how many walls/floors are between them?
