I have got a newbie questions about NTFS

1. If there's a partition with FAT32 and that someone wants to use NTFS. Why it's better to delete this partition and recreate it from scratch with NTFS rather than just converting it from FAT32 to NTFS

2. Will converting clutser sizes from 4K to 2K 'll decrease performance somehow at the expense of reducing size waste and how can i opt a certain clutser size with respect to the size of that partition so that i get the minimum possible waste?

Yes format and recreate the file system because if you convert it will use smaller cluster size which decreases performance and there is no option when converting to do that so its best to format it to NTFS with 4k clusters.

ntfs is nice. but why would you want to decrease cluster sizes?

Answer: To reduce HDD waste - smaller clusters --> more HDD size u can gain and less waste
