downloaded movies????

I downloaded movies from Kazaa and they went to my shared folder. However, when I went to view them, they would play but with no video nor sound! I downloaded over 400,000kb of material. In my shared folder, I have 7.64MB of one movie and 224kb of another. The average amount downloaded was 120,000kb. What is going on? Any advice is appreciated! TIA!!!

maybe you've been infected by a virus, and your files were compromised?

run a virus scanner...check it out.

it could be a codec problem or kazaa..lots of fakes out there

Files don't change size because of a codec problem and I've never heard of a fake that changes size.

Very true Mal. and I missed that. I do believe a good start is an up to date virus scan.

Well if you believe it is the software, all you need is Windows Media Player 9 with the codecs from this site:
www.kazaalite.tk (k-lite codec pack). Simply download, run the .exe and follow the installation wizard.
This won't help with files that have changed size, but perhaps any files that are full size with no video or audio.

Music: The most user friendly site is WinMX, it has a healthy selection though nothing like AG sadly
Movies/Apps: Shareaza, then use BitTorrent links/edonkey links from sharereactor.com and suprnova.org
Combining these applications has worked wonders so far.
