There are many linux distrobutions out there. I'm a linux user and I use Gentoo Linux. Gentoo linux however is not considered to be a noobie linux system. For anybody considering a clean, fast, advanced, and highly configurable linux system I would recommend this distro. Check out the Gentoo install documentation and the rest of the gentoo page at: http://www.gentoo.org

Gentoo compiles everyting from source code during installation.
Not all of us have 2GHz+ puters.
A full from source gentoo install takes weeks on an old machine.

They also have a two cd binary installation option for most users.

if i was gonna use linux, i would probably use redhat, as they are currently fighting sco, in delaware, and might even win their case.
and i hate sco.
so i would just help fund red hat ;)
