Here is some info on the Security issue on IE.
I think this can help a little.

For example, an attacker could run programs on a computer used to view the attacker's Web site. This vulnerability affects computers that have Microsoft® Internet Explorer installed. (You do not have to be using Internet Explorer as your Web browser to be affected by this issue.) You can help protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

I believe this IE patch is only for dial-up users, although it certainly can't hurt. I think its a modem dialer as porn sites have, and its ActiveX without a certificate, so it wont ask yes or no to install it, it will just go right ahead with its business <---- thats what I got the jist of from TSS on TechTV.
