Was origianlly using, and have now re installed 3.2.1 which as far as i know didn't come with any additional progs. What would you say the best mod to use?
Have managed to remove everything, i think, using Ad-aware and Spybot S&D but if i use IE there is a 'Turbo Download' option under tools. I'm sure this didn't used to be there.

I use The SHAD0W's EXPERIMENTAL BITTORRENT CLIENT 5.8.2 at http://bt.degreez.net/. There's no spy/adware, so I find that this client doesn't tie up system resources.

What other programs? I haven't seen any. I've run ad-aware, but I'm not sure what I'm looking out for.

In retrospect i don't think it was bittorrent that caused the additional progs. However I am still leave me with the mystery 'Turbo Download' Option which i can't seem to get rid of.

man, shut up about things you don't know shit about...
BT doesn't include any spy- / adware.
and the best BT client would be BT++.
note: actually, BT++ stinks in comparison to Azureus.

Thank you for your considered response.
I was actually hoping someone would say that bittorrent didn't include any spyware so I could eliminate it from the possible causes.

the program we're talking about isn't spyware/adware. just for future reference, try running lavasoft's ad-aware-- http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ . this will help you figure out what kind of crap you had/have when you installed bt.

I am almost positive that whatever turned up on my computer was not as a result of downloading bt 3.3, but from a different app.
I ran ad-aware and spybot s&d, after updating both of them, and thought I had removed everything but then found the 'turbo download' option under tools in IE which i am sure wasn't there before.
I was just wondering if anyone else had found this installed on their system.
I could probably do with having this thread moved to the general P2P discussion forum.

My ad-aware didn't pick up anything called Turbo Download. It just picked up the usual cookies from the likes of double-click and bluestreak that I get every time I surf the internet.

Id like to point out that your "BT 3.3" isnt actully a real BT 3.3, its a fake.. you probaly saw in a popup ad somewhere..
If you got the original BT from any place other then http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/ - It could be a fake.

Yes, I did have the same issue - good thing I was just moving to a new Dell :-)
I also managed to get rid of most of the stuff, but that pop-up was from Suprnova site. So, I got the original Torrent client, which doesn't include any spyware.
