I was just wondering what people thought about 1 or 2 new forums.
My first one was for Gamers - A part of P2P, but an even bigger part of time on the computer. Halo and stuff like that. I was wondering if we could explore the idea of having a forum, for just pc games, or we could have them for every system like xbox, ps2 etc. It's up to you guys. Gaming Reviews Etc.

I think its good for discussing ways to beat the game, patches and so on, but trading games isnt as good as one may to expect. The time, effort, and production of a game takes alot longer and takes alot of people working together.
I think their actually worth the money and they do drop conciderably in price after couple months.

In a lot of ways I think this would just encourage warez posts and the like. There are plenty of game sites out there with tips, hints, walkthroughs, etc. This is a file sharing site, and gaming would really have nothing to do with p2p (except for the fact that games are traded illegally).

I do agree, however, that there are plenty of other sites that specialise in gaming. The point of seperate forums is therefore limited.
I wouldn't complain if a games section was put in, but I'm not getting out of bed to go protest for one.

I think it's less of a matter of US forgetting the rules, but more about those random people that hop along the internet posting stuff on forums without really paying attention to rules.

How about a NES forum? I know I'd like that. However, any information I want can probably be found in other places.

Yeah it's my problem...lol I already spend enough time moving and editing and closing that a game section would probably be more work that it's worth. However I'm not completely closed to the idea. I think a gamer section would be nice even if it does require heavy moderation to keep it within our guidelines. I just don't know if all the mods are crazy about that idea.

Stop being awkard Method77, you know I mean the Audio and Video section. But that is used mostly for codec help etc., not for requesting the latest tracks.

Method don't attack him onthat, his post are of quality i know he post hella but so, andhe reads everything. Leave him alone about his post count. It is high, but big deal. Should we be offended by that? intimidated? Not really

The gaming forum has it's pros and cons, but i didn't mean for it to be about files. Walktrhorughs, tips and stuff like that. Talking about upcoming game. I hate Gamepros reviews, i want user reviews from ppl. That's all

another thing was maybe a sports forum, but it has nothing to do with this.

It takes a lot of support to get a forum, and i guess it's not necesary. however im just pointing out that it would be useful outside of some of the pointless forums wehave. the ones that having been posted since august.

Do you really think it will turn into a warez place. Ithink it'll attract new members, and mods would have to work more, but ask the mods it's upt o them if they want to moderate a new forum, im sure with 6 of them all pretty active, it wouldn't hurt.

I think a gaming forum would be a bad idea all around. It will attract kiddies, just like it was said before, that want to trade warez or illegally patch games. We don't deal that here, we talk about file sharing. Sure we have a lounge and a VIP lounge, but there was a need for them. People were posting political threads way before the VIP lounge and that is a big reason for the creation of it (as Seph and others have explained numorous times before).

Does anyone ever post threads on what they think of the latest game or how to beat a difficult level? I don't see a steady flow of things of that nature, or for that matter ANYTHING remotely related to it at all? If it is used, it would probably be to post a thread asking for a no cd patch on Diablo 2 (or a similar situation).

No offence but im not trying to be a moderator, im just standing up for malintent, because evertyime he gets in a confrontation, people bring that up. I seriously don't care. I respect mal. I'm just trying to be me, help out someone. I don't like to see ppl bullied and i don't think mal deserves this kinda pub for his post count. Does it really matter. No... let's bring up his milestones (like 1000) not his post average. So if you feel i'm out of line, my fault.

I think Mal is more than intelligent enough to "stand up" for himself but I admire your desire to help him. You have to keep into perspective, though, that people WILL take notice. He is surely not the first poster here to have a massive number of posts per day -- he is just the one who comes to mind currently when it is brought up.

Nah, I don't think it's a good idea - pretty much for the same reason why everyone said.

1) Yeah, games deserve to be bought - it's not like they cost hundreds like most of the apps out there, and it's a great way to show your support of them.
2) This is a site about file sharing - sure, it's great to talk about other stuff, but in the end, this is file sharing. I think we already have enough off topic stuff here (that's not a complaint, just a statement), and if I want info about games, I'm going to go to a game specific site.
3) Has there really been that much talk about games here? I mean, sure, there have been a Doom 3 thread, but that game is pretty much everywhere (even in my college bookstore) - overall, I don't really see the community calling for a gaming forum.
