It still hasn't reached 1.9? It's a miracle.

its not a miracle. Mike is just finding out what everyone with an ounce of common sense already knew. That trying to integrate three fundamentally different networks in one app is a difficult, pointless waste of time.

Grab let's not get too harsh here..

He proved as ONE developer he did it..and somehow through all the shit he had to fix..he still is willing to keep trying

Give him credit

I agree... give the guy some credit. I went to the Shareaza forums and read up on this new release. If your into betas and the problems associated with them then go ahead. By Mike's own admission this beta release is a month old and none of the "big" problems have been addressed. There's some window dressing but there's still a crashing problem that has not been resolved, high CPU usage, & other major complaints that were voiced in their forums that were not addressed in this release.
Mike has taken on a major undertaking by intergrating 2 independant networks along with G1 & G2. Give him credit - this is going to take a long time to get right - if ever. No one else is willing to do what he has.

So I'll wait, at least till he resolves the crashes and high CPU usage issues till I try it out again.

There is no High CPU usage problem anymore. There are features that have High CPU usage, but the app itself doesn't. This release fixes the major bugs. This is a month old because his laptop died in the US and he can't do anything until he gets it fixed.

grab_grab_, you are just plain wrong. Maybe if you had some actual reasons, i'd listen, but saying the program $ucks @ss is just stupid. I don't think the thousands of users think it's a pontless waste of time...

I would have to agree. The fact that it impliments various networks is a great step. It may not be the best file sharing application out there but then again, they are all not perfect.

I haven't had any problems with processor usage. Unexpected crashes is another story, but it's not as bad as it sounds. Other thing I find needs a little work is the amount of network reasorces that it uses. But that is expected when connecting to an Edonkey network.

In short...it needs work, but the effort shouldn't be overlooked.
