you need to share your key with a friend through email or some messenger service one of you needs to give the other a ip address.

It is for private networking so there is no server to connect too. You connnect directly to whoever you have shared keys with.

Because WASTE is meant for smaller groups of people. Since we have no way to regulate who does or does not broadcast their keys, our group would end up getting huge in very short order.

we can regulate that by the number of posts
like we can make 3-4 groups

Having prizes for post counts will only cause spamming. The annoying sort which isn't a banable offence, but adds nothing to the topic.

calling all mods......

how many threads have we had were that talk about secure p2p....and latest bull shit of zp selling our ips ........

rather than just talk about it, why arent we doing anything to make our selves more secure.......

waste i believe is the best secure thing out there we seriously should consider it.

waste is secure as long as you only swap ur keys with trusted ppl its not intended as a network for more than 15 ppl or so

I agree that waste is secure for the purpose of filesharing among a small group of trusted people.

However what I see is a need for something that hides the sharer's IP address from other users.

Hiding the content of the message/file (as waste does) does not seem to solve the real problem.

waste is brilliant, but a few points
1) its meant to be secure! Exchange keys with the general public.. might as well be on kazaa, as you dont know who the hell your sharing with.
2) I suggest you read the help guides on how to set it up, there were some that came on the original nullsoft site, and they are mirrored around, or try the other place that is updating waste. That way your know how it works and how to set it up.
3) erm.. thats all :ass
