I live in america, I like heavy metal, Heavy metal no longer comes out in america, therefore all the heavy metal I find out about is from my bros in sweden, japan, germany, and canada. I use P2P to see whats new since your heads are stuck so far up your asses that you dont even stop to think that if you had anything decent coming out you wouldnt be losing money!!! Wake up if I Here a band (example Emerald Rain, D.S.G. Alfonzetti) I have to import them since you guys only sign bands that have no musical talent whatsoever, so i want these bands to do good so they will continue to release quality music, so it dosent make sense that I wouldnt buy them but I have to pay to import them so It's almost worth it since all these other countrys will release what I want so Ill Pay THEM my money, and not you or your trendy garbage you release, stop blaming everybody else for your greed and start giving us something worth buying, ASSHOLES

Go ahead and dl and share all your overseas heavy metal... They're not under the RIAA blanket so you shouldn't get in trouble. I doubt Swedish Black Metal has copyrights in the US, sure they have it in Sweden, but you live in the US, so your out of they're jurisdiction right? Sweden can't bust you cuz you live here, and the RIAA can't bust you cuz the copyright is over there. Make sense to anyone?

oNe thing that you may need some overseas band can be covered by indy labels that are based in the US such as Metal Blade ect...

Here is a list of RIAA members, and you can compare your CDs against this list to see if they are RIAA members.

I just read another interesting viewpoint... let me copy&paste...

This poll was designed to sort of... "feel the ground".

Although... and I'll adress this guy too....

Now thats what I want you to understand....
By saying "advertise shareaza", I don't have a software in mind. "Shareaza" isn't something that designers did. It's just a name tag, a slogan. We, the people that are all connected together, we who don't want to be "tied down" anymore we are SHAREAZA!
It's like a cult, by putting few ads in newspapers here and there, we may get more members hence it will make us stronger.
And the most important part is, what delta nicely reminded... just to quote one thing...

You see we're not going after the artists even (although a little spanking might do some good), We're going after coruption, the shit that happens behind the curtains.

Let me try to make a picture here...

Immagine a girl, with a great voice and guitare. She goes to "Times square", puts down a "donation" bucket and she begins to sing. Now she's good, everyone loves it, everyone is listening to her, yet not everyone dropped money in her "bucket". Now here comes the bad guys (Record Labels). And they say...
"Shit, she's good, we can make money..." And then they begin to go thru gathered crowed asking... "Did you pay to listen to her? No? You gotta pay, or else...!

You get the point?
People sang, sing, and will be singing forever, and we don't need those "bad guys" to tell us if we should or we should't pay for it...
In that picture... what if you just happened to be there, but really didn't like her songs? Should you still have to pay?
What if you're just a homless person that doesn't have a buck in his pocket? Can you tell him... "Cover your ears, you can't listen, because you didn't pay".

And that is what RIAA does. People are getting some song, some of us may not like it, hence one was only "checking it out". Another one is someone that loves this particular song, but he can't afford to "spare some change". And there are those that do like it, and want some more of it in the future, sio they throw in few bucks into "bucket" saying...
"I really liked it.... there ya go... keep it up...!"

Now eventually, my goal is to establish that "trust fund", or a "Bucket" if you will...
I want to use those money to hire some lawyers etc. to fight our battles in the court room. And after the RIAA will cease to exist, this bucket will be used to support those that want to sing and entertain us for a living.

That's my goal, and to do that, the sharing community has to world wide spread and well known, otherwise, we won't have enough donations to suport those artists.

Phheww... that's about it...
