does any one know of a way to get an old 1998 modem Lucwnt to connect at more then 26.4kbps it has done so on the computer it cam with an a new computer

Do to technical difficulties I can't figure out what you're asking. But I'll guess. Is the modem a 56K or slower? Modem speed is based on the modem, phone line condition and port speed. I don't know what OS your running so I can't tell you how to check port speed. I think you said it did work faster in an older system? So your port speed might be dicking you. You could also check to see if newer firmware or drivers are available. Please give us your system specs both old and new and I'll see what I can do.

support for winlucent modem drivers (whatever the modem speed) can indeed be found at www.modemsite.com. also agere systems have generic modem drivers for win lucent available for download.
