If this has been discussed please delete this post, and redirect me somewhere else.
Anyway, yesterday i tried using Edonkey, and Bittornet for the first time in months. Anyway i have a nasty firewall. I'm behind a built in firewall on my springboard, and am behind a router. The main computer on my network has mcafee firewall. I have norton firewall, but i can always disable these if i need too.
Usually on Winmx,Ares,DC++ it looks beyond my firewall and lets me be in passive mode.
Anything?

If you're running two software firewalls, you have one too many, as they can conflict with each other. Your network still uses the same amount of ports, which all can be configured to allow access or not. Why don't you try disabling your nasty firewalls first, before you ask for help. It would certainly help narrow down the problem. It also helps to know what type of router you're using. Many questions can be answered by searching on google first. Try a google web and group search.

BitTorrent Ports range from 6881 - 7881. Just configure your firewalls with these values.
For eDonkey you need 4661/ 4662 TCP/IP ports and 4672 UDP port.
But I saw BitTorrent running quite well on a firewalled machine, it seems that BT does not really care about port forwarding. Perhaps your upload is worse, but I really don't know.
