I don’t know if anyone else does this but I use the cover of an album for each folder. This creates a virtual CD collection which is almost as good as the real thing.
----
To Do This (Windows XP)
Put all the mp3’s to one album in a single folder (This will be a subfolder of you’re main music folder)
Get the cover of the album from amazon.com
Click properties > Customise > Choose Picture > (Insert album cover)
Now go back to you’re main music folder and hit View > Thumbnails
----
The problem - While this looks great I’m sick of the time it takes to maintain it. Album covers keep interchanging by themselves (so say a “2Pac” cover will be on a “Nirvana” album and vice-versa). Not only that but the sub (album) folders will often change from being a “music” folder to a “picture” folder (It’s just an inconvenience changing it back to “music” every time you want to play the entire album.
It’s either a small bug in the Windows OS or something I’ve overlooked. HELP?!?!!
