Start- run-type MSCONFIG, select startup tab, uncheck the offending crap, select apply and most likely restart. Then when you reboot and you login it will bring up a new utility screen put a check in the box at lower left!
Unless SDD is a service that is started by windows, thats a different deal, let me know.
Have fun!

I like Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel. It work better then XP's. Also Pacs-Portal is a good website for chosing what applications you should not start at bootup. http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

a better way:
start,
run,
type regedit,
Navigate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/Currentversion/run
delete the corresponding entry. Also check run_once. Usually it is under run though...

REDO, usually if I see someone who doesn't know how to get into msconfig(somewhat a basic), I try and steer them away from reg hacks since if they fuck that up their screwed. Maybe add a first line to that that explains how to backup your reg first by exporting it to a file. Of course that assumes that they would know how to replace it in the event of a major F*up. ANyway you know what I mean.
And RTC, I mean none of this as an insult towards you but I don't know how comfy you are with tweaking your machine.

I just reinstalled Windows tonight, I made a slipstream SP1 CD and installed it off that. For some reason, it won't let me run msconfig. Anyone know how to get it back?

Don't know if this will work.
I used this hack for Win2K as it didn't have msconfig.

I have a very good webpage i made about tweaking your services.
Very simple to use.
It goes through a big list of things to disable that most people dont ever need to use.
Youd be surprised how much it can increase windows performance.
If you wanna check it out go to xtgn.tripod.com
