What is trading?

Hello, I am new to WinMX. I get messages from people asking me if I want to trade. I don't understand exactly what they mean. I'm alreading sharing. What is trading?

It means you've got to give them something they want in order for you to download from them.

...and this is done by starting their transfer manually? Putting them at the front of the line, so to speak. They would in turn do this for me?

First of all I for one don't condone "trading", I have done it in the past and sometimes it serves a purpose,
The thing that I would like to say to towman is trader beware.
not all traders are very cool about letting you trade, what I mean is they are all for you letting them download what they want from your computer, but when the time comes for you to get your file,,, well that can be a different thing all together ---- I have had these "traders" do this to me, and I serve files on a fast T1 wireless setup.

It is far better to share than to trade.
