I've been trying to download a lot of huge files recently, about 600MB+. These files have at least 100 users in result. I have KL++ 2.4.2.. seems like this version has sharemonkey built in. Anyway.. all my downloads are transfering at about .96 KB/s.. what's the deal with this? Is anyone experiencing the same problem? My accelerator is turned on, I have 3 computers using KL++ 2.4.2 and all are slow as heck. Any suggestions?

perhaps you're in queue...
just be patient, it will speed up.

definitely not in queue.. i've downloaded about 20+ 600MB files.. and all of them act this way.. so I have to download all these files at aprox 3kbs on average.. i leave my comp on 24/7 .. and it takes days for all these files to DL.. i'm sure it's not only me.. u gotta try this to see for yourself.. small files i download real fast.. no problem.. just these super huge files i'm having problems with

test this out(if u have time).. (deleted)... do a 2 hr auto search more.. u should get about 200+ users.. u'll be lucky if you get .01 kb of download.. it's a 1 gig file..

I have this problem sometimes on shareaza, with large files and multiple users and so on, because they are all sharing at 4bps or something until finally I get out of queue on the good one. I have never heard of this before with k-lite ???
Is there really a version of k++ with sharemonkey built in?
In which case let's ask Shepnode

Its not sharemonkey, but it IS an accelerator. It works just as well or better IMO.
Because k-lite has no partial file sharing, it does small files quickly and efficiently, but in order for somebody to move out of the line in front of you, they need to complete the 600 meg file. There just isn't enough bandwidth to upload larger files at the same rate, because the files need to be completed before moving to the next user.

Check this out,
Search for the file that you want. Get like about 30 users and then double click on the file to download it. While the file is downloading keep hitting the "Seach MORE" button or just keep Auto search more on and the sources will be higher.
I found it in the Kazaa Help FAQ. :) And this is the description of what they give about it.
But why didn't we initially search until we had hundreds of results? Well, only a maximum of 30 sources is stored in the .dat file when you start a download. But once the download is started, an additional 120 sources can be added (150 total). That's why we continued searching after starting the download.

I've had much better results downloading big files using edonkey or eMule. It might take longer for the download to start because of long queues, but once started it should complete fairly quickly. Kazaa is really only good for small files, IMHO.

Sorry, I didn't read the question very well. That consistent 1KB transfer rate sounds like your ISP has tagged you as a p2p user and is throttling your bandwidth. It's happened to me before on my old isp, both my upload and download would shut down to 1 KB if I was on eMule for a long time straight. Is your upload also 1KB? Try launching other p2p applications and see if you get better bandwidth. Also try changing the ports to see if it makes a difference.

i doubt they can legally decrease my bandwidth.. and besides.. i can still download small 4 meg files at sometimes 300 kbs.. just yesterday i dled that fast.. and regular files about 30 megs.. i can download pretty fast.. so maybe it's the kazaa program itself that's buggy

Hey i don't think it has anything to do with his isp or his computer. I am on Kazaa Lite right now. I have identified the problem. Many users that would usually have let you download at a straight 100 kbs/s have completely decreased your downloading privlages to about 5kbs. Dont worry about it man, hang in there.
