I know I'm not around much, but I've kinda missed something and I can't find any explanation:
What's happened to Krell?
Jorge
August 31st, 2003, 11:31 PM
Its a long story and i am way to tired to get into it right now. But, we needed to make some changes around the site and I felt it was best if Krell was not a moderator for the time being. I often felt Krell was over agressive with new members, coupled with frequent complaints from zp members. I often felt he was a major road block for many debates. just cause a topic has been discussed, doesn't mean people can have different viewpoints on the subject.
i respect the work he did for the site, it was not overlooked.
I wish Krell all the best of luck and wish he would stick around to help members of the site. He is a good asset to any web site.

Thanks for clearing that up Jorge. So, has he disappeared? Or will we see the shiny-helmeted one back here some day?

Here's Krell's version
http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&postid=158065#post158065
It agrees substantially enough, isn't as relaxed but we wouldn't expect that from Krell, also explains why he wouldn't be able to post here anyway, and gives some personal background you all should appreciate.
If you want to mourn him the chapel has been opened for that purpose, please bring shiny things

Thanks again Jorge for being so forthcoming

Yeah, it would have been easy for Jorge to dodge saying anything about this. He took the man's route by answering the loaded question.

Noone can be liked by everyone. But Krell got respect for haveing the right answers almost all the time. I had a few headbuts with Krell and left for a short time becasue of him. But no matter what he added and help theis forum to the best of his ability almost all the time. So i give props to him and wish him the best. but also in that requards you cant have one person with all the answers all the time or the forum become boring and well you can figure it out............
the Mods here are good, better than most forums. Its a thankless job and they mostly get the butt end of shi* and jokes. I have been here for a while and jsut want to say tot he mods, most of you are my friends and a few i dont know, but keep up what you doing because ZP is getting better, almost back to its old self again. =)
Pease, and hey Rickio!!!!

I go away for a few days and look what happens.
I miss krell. He really knew what he was talking about. He had his opininons but he was honest about them without being too scathing, (in my POV). He was a responsible mod, kept the boards nice and clean.
Krell was great and good.
Wish you the best of luck man.

Personally I thought he was a terrible mod and I'm not gonna sugar coat it anymore. However he was a good friend and a great guy and I'm pretty sick and tired of the shit they are saying about him on ESV forums. That whole place is a fucking joke and I will never, in a million years, go back.

I think ESV is just doing this to get attention to themselves and their piece of shit program. Its worst kind of spaming. Nothing I would even use. Then acting like Krell is just plain wrong. This ESV stuff is shit.. Now they got me all confused and you know how that goes....

Thats not krell, besides what pious pointed out (which is evidence that can obviously NOT be changed), krell doesn't have that good of grammar skills, he'd admit to that, and I know anbody thats chatted with him knows this.
The basic sentence structure of that post just seems like sharepro, same with notbob.

A) just by reading it, u know it is not Krell. he has much more passion than that and it reads like *insert pop-star name here* reading off a teleprompter.
B) no matter what his reasons were for leaving, he would NEVER do a thing like that...........EVER, against Zeropaid. especially on the es5 forums...i think we all know how he felt about them, eh?!
oh......how i wanted to put my 2 cents in there, but i didn't.....for moonman......but i wanted to badly.
so i must vent here.

Krell must have been really hurt to get demoted from being a mod, I remember how bad I felt when I got banned from a forum and I was just a lonely poster (or "spammer" as they put it). It would be the ultimate revenge for him to go to ESV, however much he hates them, he must hate ZP more right now.
As for his grammer, I remember his last goodbye speech to ZP about 6 months ago - I can't find it, but remember it being much the same style.
I must admit that I am not 100% with ZP, it doesn't all add up. On the other hand, I'm not going to support ESV - not after the distruction it caused to my precious registry!
Its a shame that ZP and ESV don't get along. It winds me up reading through some of the forums that are posted on this site, but I have to remember that they say it because they believe it. It may be their admin feeding it to them, or perhaps we are the ones closing our ears to the truth.
Im confused, but I keep telling myself that it will all blow over soon.

Krell doesn't have to be a moderator to share his knowledge.
In fact, moderators should not post at all except as a judge would in a trial. They need to be unbiased and unopinionated otherwise, the board is totalitarian and only views acceptable to the moderator are allowed to exist.
Moderators must not post, otherwise, they risk being dragged into a discussion and criticized for their views and their human frailty and defense mechanisms kick in and they will ban a user, even if the user isn't doing anythng wrong except that, the moderator will see criticism of the moderator as something wrong. :)

I don't remember any mod banning someone because they disagree with them, not even former mods
I ~have~ seen mods NOT ban someone who needed it specifically because they were in the fight, eventually others came along and did the banning.
I have never seen anyone banned for anything except defying the authority of the moderator system, though I have heard second-hand about people banned for other reasons I haven't seen it.
PS: delete a couple of iterations of that post when you get the chance (I know it's not your fault, there's a lag)

To be fair his moderating of ESV people was dreadful, no matter how much he claims he did against them. When he suspected a ESV Troll he flamed them and left the thread open for others to follow suit. I don't know how that fitted into his grand scheme. Perhaps a stern warning would have been more appropiate than removing his mod buttons.

Wow, since i have just gotten back to Zeropaid like a week ago I just came across this thread. Considering the fact that i was banned by Krell, i have very mixed opinions. When I first came to Zeropaid I had noticed that Krell had clashed with many users, ones who disagreed with him or were considered a "troll", a term that should only be used if proven. I many times overlooked it, or just thought it was sarcastic and had a good laugh. I also saw how important he was to senior posters, and for answering questions. But when i wanted to join a private hub of cmpuservgenius, or something like that i recieved an angry reply from Krell saying no, don't join you suck kind of reply. Yes I was angry and it ended up in like a 4 thread Krell bashing brawl, and i was eventually banned. So thats my story really. But in the long run, Krell as a mod was more of a nuisance to new members, and the forum than anything else. I am not saying I was not a little agressive to Krell, but still....
