Today I went to see FreddyvsJason on the big screen. Befor I went I snick in some CANDY and Cola Drinks. I am not going to PAY 2 bucks for a hotdog and 3 dollars for a drink. Thats stupid How many people do that snick stuff in.

In any case I could care less about people walking in with food...as long as they're neat about it and don't muck the place up they can eat whatever the hell they want.

I work overnight sometimes and see the cleaners and they ain't getting paid all that much to clean up after pricks sooooooooooooooooo it's always a plus to NOT BE A MESSY DICK.

The RIAA is full of it and it always will be. They treat the artist like shit and pretty much drain them for the first 5+ years of their 'main stream' life.

Most theaters have damn near razor thin profit margins. So shut the fuck up about it unless you actually have the facts and have seen the numbers up close.

I sneak stuff into the movies, but not the stuff they sell there no. I want that popcorn with the suntan oil on it and a big pale-caramel cup of ice Yeah!!!

But other stuff they don't sell, or if I'm not sure they have it, or if I happen to have like a whole bag of little Reese's cups or something, sure. Or you know, stuff. Like for example, shit.

I worked at a movie theater (National Amusements) for over three years... and there was absolutely NO rule saying you couldn't bring your own food. Even if there was a rule, nobody working there was paid enough to care. I bring my own food and I don't bother hiding it... nobody says anything about it.

3.25 for a candy bar that costs a buck just down the street is obscene... especially in this dreadful economy. There's no way most of us poor sleps can afford those awful prices.

I know most theaters make all their profit on their concession stands (as the box office $$ goes towards renting the film reels) ... but come on ... it's WAY too much $$ to blow on junk food. Occasionally I'll buy some popcorn, but that's about it. Bring your own soda and a snack, IMHO. Nobody in a National Amusements theater will stop you.. can't vouch for any other chain.

I've never snuck food into the movies. I've just never really thought about it. Actually, I almost feel sorry for theaters. They don't get a red cent from the ticket sales. That's why they charge outrageous prices at the concession stands. If they took even a small fraction of the ticket sales they wouldn't need to charge those prices. Of course, they would keep right on doing it in anyway. People are used to the prices and they could rake in even more money by maintaining them.

I dont pay for anything at the movies _ the AMC 30 by my house lets you take in wahtever you want. And i mean anythign that you want to munch on. they kick assssss last time i toook in a whole pizza :wings

AMC is a fucking scab house...the damn projectors are run by the freakin' candy kids! Thank 'billy' for all the yellow tape and breakdowns....(funny to me tho as they almost always blow more on destroyed prints then they ever saved by not signing with a decent union that has competent workers that know what the fuck they're doin' :D)

First week - 90/10 cut in favor of the distro
Second week - 70-80/30-20 cut in favor of distro
Third week - 60/40
Fourth week - 40/60


From then on it slowly goes down with almost all being in favor of the theater...

Royal rape job to say the least...so candy and other junk food do make up the bulk profit.

That's still no reason to hire scab ass kids for 1 dollar more an hour to clean/work the ticket booth/concessions and run shows....(some do manager/ticket sales/running shows....)

I have snuck in with some food before. I don't do it all the time, just once and a while when I don't have enough money to buy their food. But I think I've done it like 3 or 4 times before. But I know some people at our local movie theater, and they said when theres no boses around etc. they let people walk in with McDonalds, Hardee's etc. They dont care. But if the boses find you, they kick you out without a refund.

Man...the figures u'r givin sound like a mega sale at the super market where i live ( norway!!! ). Here its more like 4.50$ for a hot dog and 3$ for a 0.5L drink!!! This place is insane. I usually even hesitate to buy stuff at the supermarket. Mostly i just bring a water bottle!!!!

yeah, but isnt it all relative. I mean, you guys probably make more money from work also. Things might cost more, but you also make more.

Well...thats the probably the case for actual norweigens!!! I'm just a guest in Norway living here since 3 years, and when u'r used to different prices, no matter how much cash u have, those sky high prices come as a shock and discourage u from buying!!!
