For those of you who still want to use Napster, you can!

With the Napster login generator, you can use the original Napster client and connect to OpenNap servers.

If anyone has copies of the original Napster clients, or where to download them, please add them to this thread!

http://www.oldversion.com has almost everyone if not everyone...also...is there anyway to modify the program so the internal player plays ogg files? all of mine r and i loved the napster internel player!

there is a easier way to do that

go to
Run
type regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
Napster

under there delete any names u got there.:

Then make a txt file and type in :

Password

anon@napster.com

ofcourse where it says username fill in ur username and well pasword ...duh
Save it as a file called Napster.dat and place it in the napster folder.
the regedit is only needed if u had a napster installed previous to this.

Now when u start up napster it will ask u sumthing like NEW USER FOUND

if that happens u succeeded.
What it basically does is simple, normally when u start it up it looks or a napster server, seeing how they are no-more u cant use your nickname

With this it will think your nickname is a real one.

i did all this but my old napster client still can't find any servers. but my naptracker shows a hundred open nap servers out there. what's up?

hehe, napster tries to log onto a .napster server by default.

If u want to use napster downlaod napigator at www.napigator.com and then double click on a server and napster will try to connect to that server.

or if u have the napster version 2.1 TEST version u can log onto a servers ip

getting connected through napigator using napster 2.0 beta 7 (my favorite for 2 years) is easy. i get all my mp3s that way. what i cant do is use just napster 2.0 beta 7. i tried the script as a .dat file but the client didnt connect. but when i use napigator- perfect!

Does anybody know where i can get a copy of the latest napster beta? I think it's napster 3.1 beta 3 build 47.

Here (http://web.archive.org/web/20010604101640/www.napster.com/win/download/) is for as far as i know the last released...not sure tho.
