Dont diss Hello by Lionel Richie, that was the first single i ever bought!
Now lets get back to best videos..............
Before rainbowdemon can say it.......
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen - Wasnt it suppose to be the first video ever?
Street Spirit by Radiohead - Beautiful Video, compliments the song perfectly.
Sabotage by Beastie Boys - A funny video, an early Spike Jonze classic.
Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles - think this was a specially made promotional film, which kind of beats queen by several years.
The best recent video ive seen is:
Move Your Feet by Junior Senior - Not only is it unlike any video around at the moment and appeals to my old school videogamer inside of me, but its also supposed to be the first emailable video. Being made on a computer, the size of the animation in the video takes up about 3.5mb.

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen - Wasnt it suppose to be the first video ever? LMAO!!!!! Saw that one coming, did ya? It is a fine piece of film! It really wasn't the first video, but it did make the idea of videos popular. It was the result of a schedule conflict. Queen was supposed to be on a British tv show. But they were on tour in America at the same time. So they made this video for the tv station to air in thier place. It was hugely popular. I could have shot whoever was responsible for destroying it with the Wayne's World footage.

That is a laughable definition of punk... Good Charlotte just opened for Avril Lavigne, New Found Glory is very popular poppy-punk, The Ataris used to be cool and emoish, but their most recent album is very poppy and gaining acceptance in the mainstream (I heard the first single off that album in the GAP... that is not very punk), Linkin Park=Nu-Metal, and Trapt is mush more rock than punk...
All in all, only two of the groups that you cited I would consider punk (NFG and the Ataris), and all of them are mainstream and circulated often on MTV stations and Fuse...
Punk is different... there are punk videos, but these are not them...

most punk music is crap, but in the uk we had a very vibrant punk scene and it threw up some great bands.
the clash were fantastic, althought their early punky stuff is not nearly so good as their later stuff. London Calling (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=MISS70308061318&sql=A3tkku3y5andk) is their best album.
The Sex Pistols were the most infamous punk band, and never Mind the Bollocks (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=MISS70308061318&sql=A8ay67ur0h0jj) is their best album, although its slightly overrated.
My favorite punk album is Entertainment (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=MISS70308061318&sql=Ar69hs37ba3dg) by Gang of Four.
For really good new york punk era, but not quite punk rocking music, check out Marquee Moon (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=MISS70308061318&sql=Adjlvadskv8w5) by television.

Whos to say what is punk music and what isn't?
Saying something is or isn't this or that genre sometimes is just a matter of opinion.

I once heard someone say that Korn isn't a metal band because they don't have dueling guitar solos like Iron Maiden. Give me a break! This trend of saying that pop-punk bands are not punk is equally absurd. Just because you don't like how the genre has developed, doesn't mean you can change the definition to leave out the acts you don't care for.
P.S. I am neither a punk nor pop-punk fan.

I agree... The definition of punk is being what you want and doing what you want... Couldn't any band that is happy with how they look and what they play be considered punk? Wouldn't it be hypocritical to say someone is not punk when anyone can be punk?
My friend was this preppy kid for the longest time, then met this hot gothic girl and turned to what he called the punk side. He grew his hair out and had it changed to all sorts of colors, he started playing guitar, and he started wearing this old tight shirts and got some piercings... He was bragging because he was punk and I wasn't... I stopped him and said number one I don't care and number two, isn't punk supposed to be just what makes you happy and to do what makes you happy.
However one note. In a Rolling Stone article, Good Charlotte announced they were not a punk band by the pop culture standards...
Best video? I urge anyone who likes hot chicks to give the video for "Volcano Girls" by Veruca Salt a try. You can find it on some of their fan sites(Including I believe their official site), but there is a much better 34 mb version available on Kazaa. Watch it and tell me that you have seen a better music video :)
I also used to love:
Guns N' Roses - November Rain
Bon Jovi - Always
Nine Inch Nails - Closer
Linkin Park - Crawling
Depeche Mode - Dream On
A Perfect Circle - Judith
Punk is musical freedom..its saying and doing what you want, in webster term, Nirvana means freedom from pain, and suffering from the external world ,and its pretty close to my defintion of punk rock.
