I D/L clean blubster and ran it and can't seem to connect. I configured my firewall (norton) to allow all and port forwarded the correct ports on my router but still can't get it to connnect. I had the exact same problem with piolet. HEEEEELLLLLLPPPP!!!!!!
(I did a search and turned up nothing. Am I the only one?)

Ok now I've tried configuring the ports directly on norton and enabling upnp (I disabled it again after it didn't work). As I understand this and piolet are supposed to be good progs and would like to use it. Should I just give up, is it not worth my time and effort???? PLZ HELP.

I think some people are unable to connect have some sort of issue on there ISP level. If you have 41170 open and forwared to the local ip you should be able to get around all firewall/router issues. You are far from the first people who just couldn't connect even with everything being setup correctly. I have heard rumors that some ISP's may block MP2P because of the "odd" network traffic it produces. I know thats not much help...beta testing for the next version of MP2P clients is going on right now, they new version is suppost to have a TCP connection option..so hopefully that will allow you guys to connect.

HELP ME PLEASE as I am going nuts with Blubster.
Maybe one of you can give me some tips to get my blubster up and running.
Blubster used to work perfect for me but know I am with another ADSL provider, I just cannot connect. I am not too PC savy.
I am using Win XP Pro
Norton 2004 Antivirus
Norton 2003 Personal Firewal
Not behind any Router as far as I know. The ADSL cable goes straight into my Speedtouch ADSL modem and then into the PC. (sorry if I am not up to speed on this stuff)
I did a clean install of Win XP Prof and then installed Blubster. Could not connect. The Win XP firewall was not on.
I loved blubster when it was up and running so if you guys could help me out that would be sweet.
thanks in advance.
Mark. :green3

firstley disable the windows xp firewall and then turn flollowing ports on:
* Protocol: UDP.
* Port: 41170
* Action: Allow inbound traffic, redirect to your computer.
this is for all who need help to connect to piolet/blubster

I used to use Blubster/Piolet and had the same problems at first. All I can remember that helped me to connect was ---
There was some option within the preferences menu that allowed you to put in an IP address of clients to connect through at the opening of the program -- something like that. What I did was put in my router address (192.168.1.1) and then it magically worked, don't ask why, it's comparable to some of those Windows mysteries. If this works for you or not, I don't know. It isn't guarenteed.

Hi Christoph
You mention turning on the following ports. Not sure how you do this? I have added the following in my windows settings under Network connections. Please see attachements.
Regarding Win XP Firewall this is already off. Hope you can help.
thanks Mark..

In picture 4, the IP address seems to be wrong? You need to enter the IP address of your computer in the LAN.
Connecting MP2P is really hard. If incoming port isnt accessible exactly as it likes, nothing. Not a single response. I guess because of UDP.

If you are using Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security, disable the Worm Protection it doesn't work well with a lot of P2P programs. Then disable the Norton Firewall and then enable Windows XP Sp2 firewall.
I used Norton in the past and it just keept causing problems with P2P connections so I got rid of it and now I use Nod32 and Windows XP SP2 Firewall with PeerGuardian. I have no problems connecting anymore.
Maybe the network is out- http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?p=424040#post424040
