how can i puta few albums up on the internet for friends and perhaps their friends?
is there a way to do this using ftp? i once went to a site-- ftp://35.10.204.116:22222/MP3/0801/Mathematics-Love_Hell_or_Right_(Da_Come_Up)-ADVANCE-2003-ESC/ -- that had an album posted on a blank page that could be downloaded. how can i do this for free? can't i turn my pc into some kind of server allowing people to d/l songs off of me? i want to send a few albums without the recipients having to d/l any filesharing program, thus allowing em to just log on and d/l the tracks with ease.
thanks in advance.

Not trying to flame or anything... But what’s up with the username 'faggotry'??
Just about any chatting program will let you send files to each other.

Needs to be installed on your end, but isn't really a p2p program, so to speak.

no, it's down and will be forever.
how do i make my ftp accessible to people not using ftp so they can just click on the songs for d/l? for example, how does one post mp3s using the ftp://........ site, which can make the mp3s available for all.
The link I posted seems exactly what you are asking for....... go look :)

At least XP can, by using IIS, and setting up a small and simplistic website. If that's too hard, there are plenty of FTP server programs out there. IIS can also handle DTP serving, but you're better off with a dedicated program for that, since IIS can cause serious security problems if not properly configured.
I like Serv-U for an FTP server, personally, but there are lots of good programs for FTP servers.
You could also set up a DC (Direct Connect) hub for you and your friends to exchange files. Or WASTE if you prefer the heavily encrypted network data streams. (Hey, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you.)
