thiers a program on a websight that may be on the p2p system called the anonimizer or something of that sort.. I heard what it does is computers that ping you or do a look up,; contacts your pc, and your pc gives out the fake address instead.

its called a proxy.
google it.
btw, some proxies are free while others arent.
port tunneling software as well as it is called.
*hmm remember years ago when that is what i called it*
didnt know any other way to call it, as i figure in order to protect one self you would need to get a proxy, and proxies do keep logs.
so hence if u are really that concern, check out es5.com
omg i am telling someone to go to that site. but hey they have proxies, that they are providing and they claim its secure.
nice alternative or use waste :)
peace

Unplug your PC from the internet. Then youll be completely "hidden."
The internet is not meant for hide and go seek, and anything you do get will most likely be a pain to configure, make transfer rates alot slower and add not much in security.

MultiProxy might be what you are looking for.

multiproxy rocks. Make sure your're connecting to truly anonymous proxies. You have to delete almost 3 quarters of the proxy list. Some of the proxies block websites, and some are not anonymous.

No because multiproxy is only used for web browseing proxies and wouldnt work with p2p programs.

if it only works woth websites, then would it be effective with glt poliane (an audio galaxy clone). As that is web basest

No it wouldnt. The interface is http based the actual transferring of files is not done through the web browser but through the cilent like any other p2p program.

Waste is the private network program that was made by Nullsoft. It is NOT for large p2p networks and is only for small workgroup networks.

hes right if you want one that would work with p2p you would need to download sockscap. It is an app that allows you to connect to socks5 proxies. Search for a list of anonymous socks5 proxies.

The only way to be real secure is to, move far away to the palestines and live in a refugee camp.. and eeat beans while trying to look up your fav artist.

notice how I said "might be worth looking at"...
I'm not vouching for either service.. but to some extent they can give you kinda-anonymous p2p if you act like you're behind a network or firewall..
for some p2ps.. this method will be a total no-go due to the nature of the network.
Anyway, good luck with it, i like the programs I've mentioned, just haven't checked them out lately.. so... kinda recommended but i always advise caution with any technology.. and these methods will only work on networks that accept connections from users behind a router-esque setup.
EDIT: @shawners.. or you could call yaself Mr. Kabir and bullshit the p2p populace about 15 million users using your network at any one time... I think ES5 has a lot of potential... but they need some dignity first.
