Everybody is making a big fuss about Arnold running, but I wonder who else people think would make a good governor.

Pornstar Mary Carey (http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,6873648%255E13780,00.html)
The 22-year-old blonde said her electoral platform would include taxing breast implants to generate revenue and hiring porn stars to help negotiate better wholesale electricity prices in the energy-strapped state.

She also wants to create a "Porno for Pistols" programme under which gun owners would be urged to swap their weapons for X-rated movies in a bid to reduce violence in the freewheeling golden state.

Larry Flint
This guy has been speaking up for free speech in America since before most of ZP's members were born. Okay, so mainly his own free speech, but he's loud.

One of Larry's recent prayer campaign (http://www.larryflynt.com/national_prayer_day.html)

Gary Coleman
What you talking about Willis? Having left behind his child-star status, and licked his long time drug abuse problems, "Arnold" is the man.

“Under the rules of the recall election, any jerk can run for governor. All you need is $3,500 and 65 friends who’ve had a bit too much to drink, and the state is legally obligated to put you on the ballot.” (http://www.msnbc.com/news/949247.asp?cp1=1)

Sad day for California as the recall becomes a media circus.

And the real issues never come to light.

Grey Davis is being blamed for a screwed budget that is in fact Enron's fault when they gouged billions out of California and got away with it. He even tried to sue them for the money back and the supreme court denied it.

So Enron gets away with crimes and Davis gets blamed.

And who is close to Enron?

I think that Gary Coleman is just looking for a job or publicity.. I mean the guy works security somewhere in hollywood...Do you think he had to borrow the $3,500 needed to run?

As for Mary Carey, she's just dumb...buy I have to agree with her one one political point..Quote..
"If more guys had orgasms, they'd be less violent," she said, adding that she would present herself as an independent candidate if she achieved the requirements to run by Saturday's deadline for candidacies."----------- Can't be all bad...

As for Larry Flint--- I don't buy Hustler anymore...Playboy is for adults over 14.

Yeah one good thing he did but all the other crap Davis has done for us I could not even list here. Dont forget he was our treasurer before he was gov, He probaly signed Enron's checks. The one that really bugs me is tripling our DMV fees to make up for the negative budget. What a crock of shit. I still love living in Calif though.
Anyway Arnold will probably get it due to his movie status and Maria Shriber's...
I wonder if they will find roaches in their astrays like in the old Gov. Jerry Brown days. Ah gotta love politics. LMAO

Remember, Davis is the one who signed off on the energy contract. If you go to buy a car and the dealership wants $3,000 more than a competior do you blindly buy or go for the cheapest deal... Enron was not a monopoly... I think Davis just got took for a ride because of possible inexperience or ignorance on that particular subject or something.

I don't believe it was that simple. But simply it has been proven Enron was involved in illegal practices and to gouge someone you need to get him in a corner and leave him no options.
If their were options any idiot would take them.

California could not be left with no electricity and that was the option he had.

You are all wrong.

If Davis wasn't such a democratic stooge-weenie, he would have nationalized the energy company, but he gave up. As for the budget- IT IS HIS FAULT. IF THE LEGISLATURE PASSES THE BUDGET, DAVIS IS THE FINAL CHECKPOINT. HE ENFORCES AND SIGNS THE BUDGET. HE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND TAKEN OUT AS WELL AS HIS CLONE Lt. Gov. BUSTAMANTE.

As for me, I'm going for the Governator all the way.

Larry would be the only one, if I had to choose from this List "O" Fools. Short term he hates the government enough to really make some waves and he really has nothing to lose by being a mean nasty bastard. That so called 22 year old porno star looks like she's 60( most likely drug abuse or something along those lines) and Gary Colman is bankrupt so this may be his only way of paying off his debts.

I think a recall is really quite lame. If every time someone fooks up in politics, we have a recall vote, nothing will EVER get done, and we'd have missed out on some mighty fine politicians (Kennedy, FDR, and piles and piles of lower level politicians).

That's what terms are for - you elect someone, they get their term. If they don't do a good job, then when the term is DONE you elect someone else. Learning the ropes takes time, making changes in the status quo takes time, people make mistakes that (given time) they can redress. But not with recalls.

That said, I really REALLY hope there's some kind of public debate and both Coleman and Arnie are there; that'd just be so freaking bizarre, little black dude vs gigantic nordic bodybuilder dude.

It IS a circus, and recalls ARE damn lame, but since I can't do anything about either one, I'm gonna try to enjoy it. ;)

I dont want to discount Gary Coleman, but to my knowledge he doesnt have the background or experience to govern a state, esp California. He doesnt have the valence that Arnold has, and in my opinion, the internal fortitude and strength of character to command that office.

Being married to a Kennedy doesnt garantee qualification, but it sure as hell doesnt hurt.

Some radio station paid for Colemen and Coleman himself has siad he is not qualified. It was just a publicity joke, but it does make the whole thing look like a circus.

I doubt Coleman will particicpate in any way.
