Firewall

Hi,
I have tried just about all file sharing programs (well loads anyway) but my sys admin :sw seems to be able to block out 99% of transfres via the firewall:devil All clients(file sharing programs) I try can find and list shared files but all but one fail to download these files. The only client that can do so is gnucleus's latest version, and it can only download from other gnucleus clients. Can someone tell me what is going on and how could i get around the firewall to download from other clients like bearshare , morpheus ,limewire etc,

Help, help, in my campus also admin :sw have block file-sharing port, gnucleus only run.
There is an opennap client like gnucleus?
Its possible to create an affordable, fast http tunneling on winmx?

It seems only fair that I should answer my own question (you unhelpful shower of wasters!!)

Brain power required to implement solution 2/10

The solution i have found is to download http tunnell 2.7 from www.download.com. Get help on using the HTTP Tunnell application from http://www.http-tunnel.com/HT_Help.asp

For Kazaa (lite!) get your proxy server from your internet explorer settings under tools->internet options--->connections-> lan setting-----> (ip address and port of proxy server).
Paste these into http tunnell configuration and it will let you know if they are correct or not.
Open kazaa options , set your proxy server address to 127.0.0.1 (your local machine) and the port to 1080 (even though my proxy runs on 8099, setting this to 1080 works fine for me).

Start Downloading .............

doesn't http tunnell charge a subscribtion rate for the maximum bandwidth? is there a good free version?

Nope no free version, you just have to know how to get the registered version *wink*

I feel like a real criminal doing this stuff, I mean downloading programs to break through the university's firewall, registering the programs, so I can download free stuff!!

Trying to get around a firewall for a mate in college...

For Kazaa (lite!) get your proxy server from your internet explorer settings under tools->internet options--->connections-> lan setting-----> (ip address and port of proxy server).

The only box that is ticked there is 'automatically detect settings' . Is there another way to find out the ip and port of the proxy server?
