Here's the deal,
I've never used file sharing software, I've never burned a CD. I just got my first PC this week. It has all the programs and hardware to write CD's and DVD's, "pavilion 754n" , it seems to be a pretty good machine for the house, internet, etc..
My question is, what program do you guys recomend Idownload to get started? I dont know if it matters, but here is some stuff about the computer. BTW I only have a dail up connection.
2.53 GHz
512MB
80GB
64MB
DDR SDRAM
I thank you all for any info/advice you can give me.

You will get many different responses to a question like that. For a beginner, I would suggest Ares. Download it from here www.softgap.com Welcome to Zeropaid.:fire :fire

winmx and kazaa lite are the standard picks for n00bs.
you could even try piolet/blubster or shareaza.
all are acceptable picks.

all are acceptable picks. K-Lite has too much crap now. It might be enough to make a noob want to give up!!

I'd suggest something like winmx, or some other program, research a program before downloading. With a new computer you want to read up on a program before downloading. (don't want spyware or adware) also winMX is a very user-friendly program with no spy or adware. Kazaa lite is a good program for 56K.. but WinMX will do
Also when having some trouble downloading or uploading or even playing multiplayer games, at settings you may need to turn off the XP firewall. I don't have an XP so someone could assist you more, or youcould look at the Windows Forum. Welcome to ZeroPaid

I sure appreciate the advice. I stayed up late, took into concideration all the programs, read reviews and decided on Kazaalite. I sure find this site helpfull and will ask the vets whenever I have a question. Thanks again and good day.:fire
