I need advice on whether to buy a CREATIVE LABS SOUNDBLASTER AUDIGY MP3+ sound card. How much better will the audio be than with the standard sound card that came with my Compaq Presario? Will there be better fidelity and more wattage? Is it worth the investment or should I just buy audio enhancing software such as Qsound's Qmax or Dfx. Anyone have any experience with Qmax? Thanks for your opinions and advice.

Sound card is only one part.. You could get better speakers then it would sound better..

Weather you really need a new sound card or not depends on whats in your system now. Most likely it sucks and since you can get a sound blaster audigy pretty cheap OEM from sites like www.pricewatch.com or www.newegg.com it might be worth it..

I have a SB audigy and i like it alot..
