First time i've used this forum....hope you people can help
Have used kazaa for a while now, my hard drive died a couple of weeks ago, so had a new one installed. Reinstalled everything, including kazaa, and now use K++ v2.40.
Today, searching for files, the highest bandwidth i can see on the search page is 450. Yesterday, and every day before that, the highest has been (as far as i can remember) 3905.
Is this likely to affect actual download speed?
Why has it done this?
Cheers,
Tim
Oh, and is it worth changing to v2.4.1, and can i instal it without uninstalling v2.40, and with files still incomplete?

You should be able to install over the top, but I'd recomend doing a clean install anyway, just to make sure.
Don't worry about the bandwidth, the faster you download in kazaa, the higher that number will get. So if you max out your connection, you may see 3905, which was from a previous max speed.
Did I lose you? I can't think of a good way to explain that, other than its not a true number, it will go up if you have faster downloads.
I would go to 2.4.1, there were quite a few bugfixes.

OK, go to start>run> and type regedit.
Once you are there go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> Software > Kazaa> bandwidth. Now expand the bandwidth folder.
You will see IN, OUT, and, LAST ESTIMATE.
Click on IN, you will see some keys appear in the right hand side of the registry editor (3 keys usually for each of these values)
Ignore the brown default key.
Right click on the blue registry keys and select MODIFY, You will see a new window appear, in the white box under VALUE DATA,
Add a couple of nines to the LEFT side of the value string.
Do this for all of the keys for IN OUT and LAST ESTIMATE. (While ignoring the brown default registry keys)
And do not worry, messing with the kazaa registry keys that i specified will not harm nor interfere with your computer at all.
This will save you the time of having to "show" kazaa you can download above what it estimates is your max bandwidth, on a side note, editing your OUT bandwidth may give other users the false idea that you have some sort of demonic ungodly upload speed, as it will appear to them your available bandwidth exceeding 10,000 LOL
If this seems to daunting, just force kazaa to start downloading a ton of files that have many sources and high bandwidth, it will adjust it's estimates on your bandwidth.
BEST regards, and Welcome to Zeropaid.

Thanks for the help. I understand what you mean phalkon30, but i don't understand why it would change overnight with no intervention.
Psilaxs. I tried editing the registry files, did another search, and it's still doing the same thing.
If it's not actually going to affect how fast i can download a file, then i guess it doesn't matter too much. It just means i can't pick the fastest one.
Might try installing v2.4.1, see if that changes anything.
Cheers,
Tim.

Well, normally it fixes kazaa limiting your bandwidth to what it thinks it is, very odd that it didn't remedy your problem,
I would say uninstall kazaa lite, then delete any kazaa entires in your registry, you will be back at square one, but it should work normally after that. I.E it will asses your download speed properly after a few minutes.
Good Luck
