I know I've been out of the loop for a while, but does anyone know of a particular reason the RIAA's website is down? I just went there for some updates on what those dirty bastards have been scheming, and the page is down. I'm wondering if it's their doing, or somebody else's attempt to piss them off a little more in any way possible. Although it does put a damper on the RIAA's tactic of spreading their sob-stories of how much the industry and artists are hurting due to P2P, I find their site useful as far as what they are planning next for the online P2P community.
Personally, I think that if they are going to pursue this, they should make sure it's something really worth fighting for. Meaning, if the artists actually put some time and effort into more than just 1or 2 songs on a CD, maybe then people would be more likely to seriously consider buying it. I have plenty of legal CD's, but I'd have to say 90 percent of them I bought after downloading a bunch of the songs first. I mean, making you pay 15-20 dollars for a CD on which 13 out of 15 tracks are complete embarassments to the music industry and it's consumers alike is absurd...it's freaking rape!
