Who's The Fastest??

OK, just a general question about download speed. When you perform a search how can one tell who is going to give the fastest download speed? On v2.6 all I had to do was ping the results and take the lowest ping number. That usually worked. However, that does not appear to be the case here. So, if anyone knows how to tell, would you please be so kind as to enlighten me.

Pinging isn't going to help anyway.

When you ping an IP address, it tells you how fast it does so, but that's not a good indication of how fast you can share files. For example, say you have 56K and you ping the IP address of a 56K user next door to you. The ping speed will be high, because you are so close. However, if you were to transfer files between each other, you could only do it at your bandwidth limit. So there are other things taken into account when pinging an address, and that means if the ping is low it doesn't necessarily mean you'll get good speeds when transferring files.

Unfortunately when doing a search it doesn't tell you how much the user has his upload bandwidth capped to, so you could get faster speeds from a 56K person than a T-1 person.
