As I read posts and such, I find that the P2P cause is lacking one major thing, a unifying theme.
Some people are for the free music, will never buy a cd again
Some are for the privacy on the internet
Some are in it to kill the RIAA
Some are in it for the artists
We need a unifying theme.

here is a better way of saying it...
ZERO-PAID
add a dot com at the end and you have a unifying theme!

it's not about what we are getting is free. it's about the brotherly compassion and the meaning of life. it's about sharing the knowledge of one individual with another. the underlying theme is killing the riaa. but like i said, it's not about being free...
oh shit, what am i talking about?
free is good!
(haha, you liked that didn't you?)

Yup Free covers everything up, but also helping people get free stuff leaves a good feeling in you.

My theme is, getting free music and never buying a cd again. Who doesn't love things being free?

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!
Who wants to spend $15 for a CD with two tracks that you might like? I reward those that create fantastic music by buying their albums.
People on p2p networks help me find new music that I would never find without it. P2p is awesome for independent musicians.

Three things that unify us :
1. Common desire for Free Music, movies, files etc.
2. Zeropaid .
3. Common desire to try before we buy and know exactly what we are getting first.

p2p is about something far beyond free music and movies.
Not that I dont like that factor......
Its about the free flow of information. Thats the real threat of p2p, a decentralized method of highspeed exchange of information. Uncensorable, immeasurable and unstoppable.
And that is what will destroy society as we know it, too many of our ideas are related to the ownership of information.
And thanks to the RIAA the p2p concept has flourished. Without their help eliminating centralized networks it could have taken another 5 years to get to this point.
The free flow of information...and disinformation (As Bush so well knows) if vital.
Even no information can be critical, after all an eighteen-and-a-half- minute gap in the flow of information cost nixon his job.

Common desire to try before we buy and know exactly what we are getting first.
We should unite under that one because it sounds better than free or zero-paid.

I mean, yeah, free for ME. But some writers and musicians spend years working on stuff. If they don't get paid for it, then they'd have been better off working at Mickey D's and making minimum wage. Hey, if nothing else, Mickey D guarantees some reward for your work (however pitiful that reward may be).
And try before you buy? Heh, I dunno about you, but I have tried a lot of stuff that I keep trying all over again without ever buying it. Guess I'll keep trying it too - who knows, maybe if I try it enough I'll suddenly be filled with the desire to buy. Doubt it, but ya never know. Maybe I'm just 'not trying hard enough'? ;)
If I'm gonna be completely honest, my underlying theme would be: 'Gimme everything I can get without throwing me in jail or forcing me to pay!'
But if you wanna phrase it 'try before you buy', I got no prob with that. For me, though, it'd be more like 'try and, er, well, keep trying!'
