Hi, I'm kinda new here, and i'm interested in downloading E-donkey. And i was wondering, if its worth downloading. Does E-donkey have any spy ware, or adware on it?? Thanks for reading this. ~~jewels

I prefer emule. Check out the FAQ to get started. It's a great program. Any questions, just ask.

You can use Shareaza. I don't think it has any spyware or adware.

There is no spyware/adware on eMule. Most people prefer it to the original eDonkey. It's a very good p2p app. You will just need to take a little time to learn some stuff about it. It's not complicated but it isn't like Kazaa. If you want to share big files like movies, software, complete CDs then it's worth it!
Maybe the most important thing once its running is to go into the preferences and enable ed2k links. Then go somewhere like sharereactor and you will find verified links which you just click and they load into the client. It couldn't really be easier than this to get quality files.
The FAQ is very good.

If you have DSL or Cabel, its worth it. If your on some sort of dialup, you better go for something else.

Using shareaza on the edonkey network is a bad idea. The app is still in beta, and they still havent got round to implementing the credit system, so it will take you longer to get your files.
edonkey and emule are both much better apps.

eDonkey has optional spyware, meaning there's a radio button you have to deselect when you install the program.
eDonkey's clone emule (http://www.emule-project.net/) is most preferred by users. I recommend using emule instead.
I have to give out one warning, the eDonkey network is slow.
Meaning you are going to get speeds of 1 Kb/sec when you first start using the network.
The speeds does improve, but don't expect 100 Kb/sec downloads for all files.
You have to be very patience with the eDonkey network when you download a file.

I really enjoy the ed2k network for it's ability to find very rare files. You can find movies that are not readilly available on any other network besides possibly DC. The only problem is, these rare files often have so few sources that it will most likely take days or weeks to complete them.

DC++ is my second choice, but it lacks the ability to download from multi sources.
And some users just log off without you finishing off the download.

I really haven't used DC much, none of the public hubs have seemed very good to me so far, although I've only gone to the ones with 60 gig or so limits.
