Just wondering what peoples favorite songs are of all time. I am sure this will get some reactions from nice old stuff as well as some brand new songs that are peoples favorite song.

For me, it would be:
Guns N Roses - Sweet Child of Mine

with

Styx - Renegade as a close second.

Good god! I can't just pick one! Here's five:

1. A Reminder - Radiohead (just a b-side, but beautiful enough to be an album track)
2. Something - The Beatles
3. This Is A Low - Blur
4. 1979 - Smashing Pumpkins
5. Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division

It's not my favourite but I was listening to "My Secret Place" by Joni Mitchell & Peter Gabriel when I read this thread. I also, like "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys, great song.

Ken's Top 5 List

1.) Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven

2.) The Doors - The End

3.) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird

4.) John Lennon - Imagine

5.) Aerosmith - Dream On

**In actuality, I had trouble with this because I included the best (stairway to heaven) but decided not to include any more Zeppelin. Otherwise the top 5 would have had maybe 3 Zeppelin.**

It's almost impossible to narrow it down to one song. This is my favorite album of all-time. It's sort of a concept album, so it's kind of like one song. The songs all follow the same theme. Great album!!!!

Sandcrab has it right, Stairway to Heaven is simply the greatest song, good lyrics, a great guitar solo and the ability to affect your emotions.

Ken's list is also wonderful, especially is freebird is the live version from Atlanta.

It's too hard for me to pick even a short list of favorites, so I'll go with my favorite song title:

What Need Have I for This; What Need Have I for That; I am Dancing at the Feet of My Lord; All is Bliss; All is Bliss.

Freebird- Lynyrd Skynyrd Live from The One More From The Road album

Couldn't Stand The Weather- Stevie Ray Vaughn & Double Trouble

Red House- Jimi Hendrix

Higher Ground- Stevie Wonder
