I put some of my own songs into my shared folder on kazaa and they say that they are being shared. However, none of my friends get a result when they type in "unfair superpowers". I see them in "my kazaa", although the length of the song is not listed. Do you have a suggestion?!?

Kazaa is one big network that has over 1,500,000 users on it. If every one who did a search went threw all those users, you would never get past searching. So, the Kazaa sharing network (Fast Track) is split up in what is called nodes. Most likely none of your friends are on the same node as you.
Not sure what version of windows you are using, but there are a few different ways to find out your ip address depending on which version you have. One way is to go start / programs / accessories / command prompt. Then type in the new window: ipconifg. You should have a ip address number like 11.11.11.11 Now in internet explorer type in http://11.11.11.11:1214 but have the 11.11.11.11 be your ip number. You should see the files that you are sharing. Now you can give this ip number to your friends so they can get your files.

I went to the site and it showed all of my songs, but when I tried to download one it seemed like it would work but then just sat there thinking forever. What should I do?

if you have a firewall, kill it. you seem to be going through alot of work for this, wouldnt it be easier to send it them on CD? It would be faster (depending on size).

First off that "site" is your own shared directory...
And the other thing is if there are no open download slots then what happens is the same as KaZaA telling you "Remotely Queued" - You have to either allow more downloads, and hope they don't fill up, or start cancelling downloads till your friends get connected... You need to talk with them while they are trying to connect...

I would give the cd to my friends, but one is in Boston, one is in Florida, one is in New Orleans, and I am in Detroit. Also, I would like to make it available for anyone to download, kind of like free promotion.
I have plenty of open download slots, but I'm not sure how to kill the firewall.
Suggestions?

You can only kill a firewall if you have one. A firewall is like zone Alarm or Norton person firewall. It might be they have a firewall on there end.

Download a different program where you can search by user, such as filetopia 3.0 or winmx. Enter a chat room with your friends and then have them browse your files.

Try not to attempt to list your IP to all of God and country.
