hey, here's your 10 reasons, why u should to try mediaseek :The key features of the new MediaSeek.pl network are:
1. Web-based user interface
2. Auto-resume of broken downloads
3. MPEG Audio Layer 3 Support (64-320 kbps VBR & CBR)
4. Pure music indexing (only the audio frames are indexed not ID3Tags)
5. Ability to queue off-line files (download starts when the file becomes available)
6. Download location optimizer (finds the fastest link from you to the file)
7. High anonymity (other users do not see your username and can not list your files)
8. High security (only shared MP3 files can be accessed by remote users)
9. W3Cache proxy support (download only)
10. Remote management - ability to run MediaSeek.pl Client on one PC and queue files from another (i.e. queue form work, download at home)
so ou ti now !!!

Why is everyone so lazy at downloading it, running adaware then boom it's off your computer!
I really do like MediaSeek but it just needs more users and it WOULD be the next AG Satellite.
People are getting lazier, and lazier each day, and now their so lazy they can't run a frickin' program to remove something!

then, like AG, it would be gone
sort of a catch 22 i guess
more users make good p2p, but they also cause its death--kinda sucks don't it?

That's true..
Although people just dont think that any of these AG substitues compare to what AG was and always will be in their memories..
It might get a shot at becoming AG..but most think it just won't succeed at being as good

It's not a matter of laziness. When I first got into computers, I used AG. I thought it was the best (still miss it). But at that time I knew nothing about spyware. After AG was gone it took forever to clean up the mess it left behind. So now I prefer to use apps that are clean in the first place. I currently have Spybot S&D and AdAware, and run them both on a regular basis. I just have one question about them. Do they clean up the registry as well?

Gator isn't too scary. StartupMonitor pops up asking if you want to allow fsg3100 at startup. Saying no takes 5 seconds. Shutting down fsg takes another 10 with TaskMan. Then a search for fsg produces a folder and a couple of exe's which are deleted instantly. Total time is 45 seconds and you've neutralized Gator. Then just run Ad-aware/Spybot/SpySweeper to get rid of the registry entries and any other fragments. Not really a big deal.

ctrl-alt-del
turn off "gaintrickler" or "trickler"
manually delete the gator folder/ regs if you want to
i've been doing that since 1998, before adaware even existed (or at least before i heard of it)

I think if they did a little more advertising and a better link than .pl i think they could become big. Like you said, AG in their memories. The only two things I see different are the size of the box, and the user amount. That's it.
dr. damn

I've considered cleaning MediaSeek, but considering that nobody uses it, and those that do only seem to listen to pop, I don't see a reason to clean it at all. Besides, if you want misnamed audio files, you can always use KaZaA.
