Kazaa songs are getting messed up.

Lately, all the songs i have been downloading have like a static noise in the middle of the song. The rest of the song is ok, but there would be this weird noise throughout the song.

then you need to choose better songs to dl. this is nothing new, for pretty much any p2p network. be smart, pay attention to what you're dl'ing. don't pick the song you're gonna d/l bc the tags match perfectly or the filename is perfect or it is available atm. choose a good quality file, with a lot of sources.

It's probably the RIAA putting fake files online. They have been doing this forever, switch over to Clean Blubster from drdamn.com i haven't got a fake file since!

hm I've never noticed this problem until the last few weeks. It happens with new files, so I'm sure it's a deliberate attempt by someone/people to "mess up" the songs.

But it doesn't really affect me because I always download 4-5 versions of a song anyways, and at least 1 of them is usually a good clean copy.

Yes, I have had the same problem and it hasn't been a problem until recently. I only download the version of the song that has the most users and the version usually has way more users than anyelse but everysingle song I download is really messed up. But the movies I download are perfectly fine.

If you can deal with the long ques winmx has lots of mp3s next to kazaa. Otherwise I would try ares, soulseek, the clean blubster or piolet.

then click on verified files and follow the directions on how to use that method.

Filesharing is not safe in the USA. The only apps that claim to be safe are shit. You could try moving to Europe, we even have electricity here.

I'm in the UK so had not given much thought to the RIAA but maybe should now!

Tried DC++ today and collected the tracks I wanted with no problems, shared quite a bit as well.

Is America the best place to live? My brother and his family were there for 18 months recently before fleeing back to England, it was not how they imagined (no real pubs for a start!). Each to his/her own I guess.

Despite its many flaws, I still consider the US the best place to live that I have seen, and I have lived in France, Germany, Mexico, Canada, Switzerland, Turkey and Grenada. Second on the list after the US I would put Grenada (for the cheap kickass spliffs and awesome beaches, mon), followed by Turkey (hot women, nice beaches on the western coast, and everything is so freaking CHEAP). I never lived there, but I did stop there once when flying from Grenada to North Carolina. My experience in Puerto Rico was pretty funny. I was US army, and I was smuggling a pound of kickass marijuana back with me sealed in an MRE (Meal Ready To Eat) bag. At that time (in the 80s) MRE's were new and were just replacing the old-style C-rations. Anyway, I had the MRE bag with a pound of pot in one pocket of my uniform pants and a real MRE bag in the pocket on the other side.

Well, when the plane stopped for refueling, we all got off and went into the customs inspection building to order pizza while we waited for the plane to get ready for takeoff again. The customs inspector there had never seen an MRE before and he wanted to try one and since I had two, he asked me for one, which I gave him. Five seconds after handing him the MRE bag, I realized I'd just handed the customs inspector the bag of pot! I didn't panic though, and cooly told him that I liked that particular meal better, and handed him the one with food in it and asked for the other one back, which he gave me.

So, I didn't get busted. I handed a customs inspector a pound of pot and got away with it. That's my only experience with Puerto Rico. ;)

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I though even the verified could be messed up... and that what the RIAA intentionally did. The verified file is only defined by the hash marks every 3kB or whatever, so anything inbetween could be fragged and it could still have the verified "fingerprint."

The answer: don't use KaZaa anymore... it was tough for me to finally move on but really, I'd estimate over 75% of NEW music is messed up on KaZaa.

k ya'll the only way i know how to get good music no static and no scratches is to download the new Kazaa Lite 2.4.2 and use it i havnt got one bad file since it came out and my 4000 mp3 archive is going strong.

Yea, the kazaa way of hashing files is not very secure. The RIAA has started faking the file hashes, so you could get static in the middle of a song even if it's a verified hash.

Meaning, they're not just releasing fakes, they're screwing with the real copies too.

I have about 2k songs, all original. Over 8k deleted lol. I can also TRY to get an original for you :angel :;) .

I suggest we get a group of REAL hackers and fry ALL the RIAA computers. Or that all those who are not aethist to pray for meteorites and assinations of all RIAA staff and computers. Maybe if some aethist start praying "god" may grant it. LoL.
