View Full Version : Multiple Instances of KaZaA?

This is something i have been pondering for some time now,

Is it possible to have multiple instances of kazaa running?
I would like this for the obvious reason of performing more then one search at a time.

If no one has a (relatively) simple solution, how hard would this be to implement myself?

There was a thread a looooooooooooooooooooong time ago about this.

Basicly, no. From what I remember it was something about sharing registry keys.

Thats what i am wondering, if there is a way to isolate registry keys, and have them work independently of one another. It shouldn't be that hard (or perhaps it is)

Well, RN would be the guy to ask I guess.

I had wanted to do this too. I have 2 hard drives. I wanted to run a version of Kazaa on each drive. I never thought about sharing registry keys. So even with 2 hdds this can't be done?

kazaa 2.5 doesn't allow you to continue an older search once a new one has begun, making it fairly useless feature.

Not true, i downloaded Clean grokster 1.6 and when i tried to run it while kazaa lite++ 2.40 was running, it just brought up the kazaa program which was already running.

you could try running Kazaa and grokster/Imesh, i've done this before.

I've never had a problem running both Kazaa and iMesh at the same time. I think when cpu was referring to 2.5 it was because it is supposed to have tabbed searching i thought. I could be wrong on this it would not be the first time nor will it be the last.

I have two Hd and two OS on.
I run KaZaA Lite 1.72 on Win98Se
and on WinXP o run KL 2.1.0
I have no problem maybe cause i have 2 os'
But i find that a lot of kazaa stuff is fake so i now mostly use shareaza, emule, but kazaa still is good for audio.

Hope this helps
