I have a laptop with s-video capabilities.

I know how to clone my desktop and all of that. It's not hard. But I hate having to go through the driver properties and junk just to enable nView. As well, changing the nView settings aren't available through the NVTweak stuff they provide either.

My question: is there a nice utility that has a bunch of options concerning s-video/tv-out? TVTool does not yet have the proper support for my chip. If nothing else, I wish I could enable nView and clone my desktop in 2 or fewer clicks, rather than the click orgy it is now.

Thanks!

Do either of these options do what you want? I think the first one, the media center icon thing is what you'll need.

(this time I'll actually put the picture up)

i'm just gonna guess this was a bump...

i have no clue. i use an nvidia card, but i dont use nview... my next comp will have ati...

i think www.majorgeeks.com keeps a lot of weird, yet useful programs. stuff from being able to overclock your gpu if you have the 29 drivers, etc. really old, but useful to somebody. check it out.

if its not majorgeeks, then i forgot the address. lol.

I think they either replaced "media center icon" with "NVTweak icon" as the video cards progressed, or the features of the cards are different and thus warranted different names. In any case, enabling (on mine) what is the "NVTweak icon" doesn't get to cloning my dekstop any faster.

Thanks anyway guys!

Two questions then, what is NVTweak, because that sounds like an external program (or one that doesn't come from nvidia), and what drivers do you have? I have an older set

I have an older set No, NVTweak is included with the drivers for my particular chipset. It's a little checkbox to display the icon in the tray, so you can quickly tweak the settings and such.

Just checked the drivers. Turns out there was an update, just a few days back. With the newest drivers, what was previously the NVTweak icon has now been reworded to the Media Center icon, like yours.

My hunch is that they both always did the same thing. nVidia probably just converged the interface and everything to make it less confusing, and probably less work as well. I haven't tested them as it concerns cloning the desktop, but I have an idea that might save me some hassles. When I have everything connected, I'm going to try to send an application to Monitor X through nView, where hopefully X will be my TV.

I'll keep you posted.

Doesn't work. You still have to go through the click orgy of cloning your desktop. I think they might've made it one click shorter. Woo.

Isus, why isn't your next comp going to be a mac?
