compress mp3's

hey, i just bought 10 of those lil cd's and i was wondering if there was a way to compress the mp3's so that i can fit more onto a 24 minute cd! i am just curious, because i bought these to put music on them so i can use less room while i am traveling to mexico next week!

actually it doesn't really matter on the bit rate of the song, you can only fit as many songs as the time alows, e.g, you can only fit 80 mins of songs on a 80 min cd. By the way, there's no such thing as a twenty four min cd, lol.

EHHHHHHH! Wrong answer. Not sure if 24 minute is the correct length for those 'mini-cds' but they do exist. And the minutes only refers to the uncompressed audio on audio cds. If you're talking about mp3s you have to think in terms of space.

So an album can be compressed to 120MB (i know that albumscan be different lengths!) therefore on an 80 min cd (700MB) you could fit 5 and a bit albums if they are compressed using mp3. So even if the album is 50-60 mins long you can still fit 5 and a bit albums onto 1 cd in mp3 format.

It will only work as a Data CD if you have an MP3-compatible CD-player. Most CD-players DO NOT support this. However, if you have one that does, then yes it will work. Otherwise, the bitrate makes no difference, you are limited to the number of minutes stated on the CD.
