this doesn't matter for me, because i am running lindows! i get everything i want for a low price of 4.95 a month for the click and run service! unlimited downloads!
this sux! the vulnerbility within the html coding. I don't think that i like windows that much anymore, because they keep having problems and updates!

To all Windows users, now is the time for you to consider Linux.
I suggest you get Lindows like the user above. Do you really want to have to keep downloading patches like this?
Someday one of these patches will remove your ability to download mp3s. Then what do you do?

By the way it seems like this exploit is designed for internet exploiter.
Another reason to use Netscape.

seriously, if bill gates ran for president he would probably win! he is just trying to take over you and your computer! switch over to linux! i prefer Lindows 4.0, Redhat 9.0, mandrake, lycoris, slackware or for the beginners Knoppix which is just run on a cd without having to be installed onto your computer. but if u want more for your money get lindows. it comes with a program called click and run where u can pay 4.95 a month for unlimited downloads! it installs the program for you and you can get almost anything you want on this program! SWITCH TO LINUX and download wine which makes it so u can run windows applications on the linux os!

Not install the patch?
I don't believe every Windows user on this planet has downloaded every security patch. I'm willing to bet a vast majority of people are unaware, or just plain lazy, to use Windows Update.
Changing over to a completly new OS is a big deal for most people. I'm not saying people don't agree with using Linux, or the principle of using it. It's just most people wouldn't know how to change over, or just can't be bothered. It's much easier to settle with the devil they know.

first of all:

"To all Windows users, now is the time for you to consider Linux.

i am actually gonna defend microsoft here and not talk about how osx is great. watch this ccsdude, notbob, etc.
yea, lets use one of the various strains of linux. everybody move to a set of code that can run on our computers. lets run to linux. linux is perfect. there is no way to hack a linux box, especially not lindows. retards.
and yea, let's use netscape as well. i'll take my chances with safari for osx and firebird for windows.
yea, so what if ms releases major bug fixes every other day. big deal... small price to pay for having 95% of the market share, and therefore being the biggest target of program makers, viruses, and hackers.
the point is, WE DON'T NEED DUMBASSES TELLING US TO D/L MS PATCHES.

Of course, you could just obtain Lindows FREE. You idiot!

It's better than having an OS that is ful of holes that no one tells you about or fixes them for free (or at all sometimes)
Suggest anyone who believes Linux is inherently secure does a quick google search for Linux security vulnerabilities. Interesting reading.
It's not dumb to fix a security hole.
It's dumb to pretend you don't have any.

I don't use Lindows I use XP and emule. I get unlimited downloads of anything and everything for 4.95 a month less than you are paying.
But apparently I should switch to Linux and then download wine and.....er....run windows applications....yeah that really makes so much sense, I'll do it right after I finish buying a Ford car and installing a Volkswagen gearbox in it. And I really hate the way my CD player just plays boring old CDs so I'm going to switch to an 8 track cartridge and adapt it to play 12 inch laser discs. Not because it makes any sense but just to show everyone that I am clever. Very clever. So clever it may even seem insane and pointless. But clever.
Open source is OK but I prefer free.

>Another day. Another patch.
Another thursday.
Thurday is critical windows flaw day
I like linux but I will happily admit that all the major distro's could do a lot better in terms of out-of-the -box security.
The idea that linux systems are totally secure is a myth and wishful thinking.

Like there isnt patches for linux.. Linux isnt widely used which is why alot of their major bugs dont get press, also is why there isnt as many out to try to find exploits for malicious purposes as there are with windows.
Being secure requires the user to keep their software updated no matter what there is. Assuming that just because your running nix your safe from everything and you dont have to worry about security or updating is foolish.
You hinting that one day one of these patches will make mp3s not play is pretty lame. You have dont alot of assumptions and fear mongering since you started posting here which not only does more harm than good but you should also stop doing it.

Most all of my programs have updates that need installing, or "patches" if you will. I have no problem with that. None at all.

in my opinion, lindows is THE worst distribution of linux...IF it's even worth being called a distribution!
get mandrake, or redhat FOR FREE!
you get the same thing.
but, if you want it to 'just work' get windows, or a mac (i'm going out on a limb on that one, never used osx)
windows has what, 30 patches for XP?
linux has hundreds.....

Apples and oranges.
You get a lot more applications and servers in a typical linux distribution than you do with XP.

I don't mind patching Windows at all, but the Linux bashing is kinda harsh.
We all know how Lindows is pretty much crap and if he's using Lindows (mp3masta88) I doubt, no I highly doubt he uses slackware.
As far as "holes" and "flaws" and "bugs" go, they are in every OS. Windows gets the majority of exploits known because they are the largest part of the market. Linux is a _free_ OS which does a good job at trying to stay bug free and when they do discover and exploit, it takes a day or even hours to patch it instead of weeks (like MS sometimes does). It's a _free_ OS... you get your bang for your buck out of LInux.
As for updates, yeah there are updates for every piece of software on a Linux box, but they are easily resolved by running "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade". Just as simple, if not simpler, than the Windows Update page.
