I have XP Pro, and the latest java installed download from java.com.........

my comp is p4 1.7 256rd ram , but running any java application (limewire) makes my comp pathetically slow, so much so that even winamp cant play songs (clicks)........

i updated my serial to install ServicePack but under control pannel>add remove programs, i could only find the option of - use version of java installed.........

i am looking to download microsoft virtual machine.........
where do i get it from ?
if i install it , can i uninstall the java jre.exe (downloaded from java.com)?

i searched on kazaa for virtual machine and found some results
Microsoft VM 5.00.3805.exe being most popular result.........

Kindly Help

My computer is older/smaller than yours by a long shot, but even mine didn't run well without 512 of RAM

It is well known that Java is a slow language. Any application developed in this language will run slower than it's C/C++ counterpart. I would advise you to upgrade your RAM if you want to run these applications without any problems or give up on using applications built by Java completely. The language is great for games and applets, but fails when it comes to speed of programs.
