Nice to know but how many threads are you gona make with th same exact post? Now you only need to make one. Don't worry if we want to read it we will. no need to spam for it to be seen.

Please do not post the same thread twice.

Its really the luck of the draw, today happened to be your day. and thats not the most I've seen. I blocked 200+ in a few minutes one time.

Not sure why you posted more than once, but we will see it the first time, don't worry.

I honestly don't think its a big deal to get that many. Some of those like double click are from browsing the internet. Most of the other blocks are most likely fake anyway. At most I would guess you got 5-10 hits.

Most people who have freaking out posting these kinds of threads they werent as bad as those people thought..

And in those cases it makes things worse than it actually is and just causes people to freak out and be paranoid when they have no real reason to.

The RIAA/MPAA and whoever DOESNT scan networks themselves they hire other companies to do the scanning.

yea i think the Riaa does this solely for the scare factor
they hire from outside to do their dirty business
on the plus side
I like your new pic of yourself, (your avatar) seph

I got hit over 1000 times one day. Did I give a shit?

OK yes but only for a few minutes. RIAA / Media defender/ MPAA etc are in USA. I am in UK. Hello RIAA hello Media Defender Good evening MPAA I love you and respect you deeply and now I will carry on sharing my small but beautiful 50 gigs. Everyone is welcome to enjoy it

Anyone beat 1000? I wish I had made a screen capture ...I was temporarily distracted! If it happens again maybe I will just post the total value shown by PG....don't want to take over the whole site with bs...just a little piece thanks

Kinda funny, eh?

RIAA moans about how they're going bankrupt...yet they have cash to throw around on expensive scanning/logging services. Why not cut costs and use their own DNS range IP's?

just a question?

How do you know those weren't residential users? Peergaurdian blocks out ip ranges. How do you know that it didnt accidentally block out some residential range>

The RIAA isnt really RIAA:

Global Crossing GBLX-16 (NET-146-82-0-0-1)
146.82.0.0 - 146.82.255.255
Tomorrow's Solutions Today, Inc. REQ-0204626228 (NET-146-82-174-0-1)
146.82.174.0 - 146.82.174.255

compliments to ARIN.

EDIT: oh yeh, if anyone is wondering about "Cable and Wireless" its just a Cable provider for residential customers. Another 1% of the poor 12 year old kazaa users blocked. HEH

I just had someone downloading a workprint of a film from me. I searched for what they had to offer, expecting the usual No Results Found. Instead, a great big list of key-gens appeared for every game and every application you could think of. Each exactly the same size and each quite obviously a virus. So I cut off my download to them and sent a PM saying "kiss my ass". (This was partly due to my annoyance that I just had to download a recent film that is third in a series about a robot from the future, as it is not realised in the UK for nearly a month after it was in America - In other words, when the Americans have finished with the tapes.)

I then realised that telling a police officer to kiss your ass when he is debating a speeding ticket is not the best plan. In that light, I regreted the message.

After the experience i decided to get peer-guardian, as it is better than nothing. I downloaded the update and renamed it guardian.p2p as instructed, so I am now blocking 52,321,778 IPs from 353 profiles.

After all these posts about people boasting how many blocked IPs they get per hour, I'm a little nervous that peerguardian has yet to block any - it just kinda sits there. Is this normal? Its been going a good two hours now. Am I supposed to tell it to start?

EDIT: phalkon30, please get rid of that avatar - it keeps giving me nightmares and reminds me of a disgusting program I saw on irag, showing footage of a girl with half her head missing. Thanks.

This seems like more than enough of this paranoid bullshit going around, particularly since as Manasmoker already pointed out, there is at least one other thread where the exact same message was posted. From what I can see, there is no point to this thread other than trying to terrify some of the P2P users into staying away from the file sharing programs (fat chance of that happening, assholes. ) Boot this RIAA guy and close the thread.

I was making a comparison. I just thought that by sending them a message telling them to kiss my ass, I was inviting trouble. If they only report a few cases to whoever they work for, you can probably guarentee that my name is now top of the list!

I have no idea what "ogrish" is and by the sound of it, I don't want to know. I'm being serious with Phalkon, there is something about the avatar that makes me feel sick.

Ahhh I see...knew it was a comparison just wondered what you linked it to.

'ogrish' is a website...basically dedicated to showing you 'life' and stuff the media won't. It makes that avatar look like a PBS kids show. Iraq stuff is pretty bad...but Chech stuff is downright bile inducing...some heartless bastards in that bunch.

Just ignore his....look at mine...it's just so...normal..lmfao

You can't really make anyone change their avatar, it isn't up to you. Either turn off all signatures and avatars or stop complaining about it.

As far as this thread goes, I really don't trust Peer Guardian's list although its idea is good.

Hey at. morris, did you forget this was a public forum ? You could have just as easily PMed phalkon with that request since you seemed so bent out of shape seeing some fake gore.

Oh and I was being civil in my last post. Just because I don't dance around a subject doesn't mean my comments were in any way insulting to you. Lighten up.

why's RIPE banned?

http://www.ripe.net/perl/whois?form_type=simple&full_query_string=&searchtext=81.77.105.181&do_search=Search

some dsl customer for Energis UK (http://www.energis.co.uk/)... banning it because it's ip is reassigned by ripe is no reason.. why don't you ban ips assigned by ARIN, LACNIC, AfriNIC, and APNIC also

I totally agree...it's fake gore and pretty lame at that....

And I've always been sort of annoyed by cry babies who bitch about my avatars when they aren't even offensive or cat abuse related...lmfao (Phalkon you enjoy the cat smacking face first into the wall way too much....)

I'll change it. I guess I didn't find it remotely offensive, but I'm not exactly attached to it, it was one I hadn't used yet.

The guy with the virus's isn't necessarily a policeman, in fact, its probably some "1337" script kiddy that got bored.

Sorry MoonMan - ive deleted my last post and will PM in future.
Thanks Phalkon. I understand why you didn't think twice about putting it up. Usually blood has no affect on me, but there was something about that image that I can't put my finger on.

I hope your right about the scripit kiddy..
